12 months ago man, I wasn’t playing football. Shit I wasn’t even training. I was suffering from a shoulder injury that had no clear rate of improvement and I really didn’t know when I would be next on the football pitch - I had no idea how much my identity and self confidence was tied to what was happening on the football field. Am I anything other than a footballer? Have I put all my eggs in the wrong basket? Shit I was even thinking crazier thoughts than that! Is it still worth trying to play professionally? Is that even attainable? Do I hang the boots up? Find a new purpose for my life? Damn. Without my girlfriend at the time I could’ve found myself down a pretty deep hole. Also shoutout to benmata98 who held it down with some very valuable advice when I needed it

Around this time kt suggested I talk to someone, and not just one of the boys over a few beers but go and see a therapist. Hands down, one of the best decisions I’ve made in my life. I learnt so much about my self and my behaviours - if anyone is thinking about doing it, take the leap bro! Nothing to lose and everything to gain.

Fast forward a couple months and @calvinllee_ was working on this opportunity for me to come and play in Tassy - and at first I found it hard to believe, I truly thought football at a high level was out of reach for me but over a few conversations I realised that it was a concrete shot at a fresh start!
