PG Players’ Something’s Afoot (as Nigel Rancour)

This was not a show I was anticipating being a part of. One day Laura puts a casting call for men in the TMA chat and the next thing I know, I’m cast as the slimy nephew of the deceased. Being in a spoof, this role pushed me in was I was not expecting. By the end of it, I think I gave a solidly detestable performance; I was at least proud. There were moments I regretted taking this on as my third gig of 2026 in a row, but the payoff was so worth it in the end. Any regrets that once were are no longer present (though I am looking forward to my actual break now, haha).

This team was such a delight to work with and I could not have asked for better costars. I’m so grateful for the relationships I was able to form and develop over the course of the production (they somehow made having the long hair plus mustache combo bearable!). I owe it all to them; it truly was a marvelous weekend, but now that it’s over, it’s time for a new day.

The Ruth’s The Scarlet Pimpernel (as MWF Tussaud)

My first gig at the Ruth Hale is officially over and man, was it such a good first gig. First of all, it’s so thrilling to be able to refer to myself as a professional actor now (on a technicality, cuz paid, but I like technicalities). Second, this cast was just such an incredible team to work with over these multiple months preparing for and performing in this production. My castmates were nothing short of amazing, and I feel so honored that I got to be beside them all this time; it was so uplifting to be considered an equal among this level of talent.

And it cannot go unsaid that the crew backstage made the experience all the more better for me. I felt so pampered by their presence for the first week of tech and felt so happy to interact with them through the run. We became friends so quickly and I cannot wait until I am cast in another production at this theatre and get to act with their backstage support again.

Now, I must move on to my next gig and say farewell to this show that did shimmer so, but I’ll only forget you when I die. Nevertheless, onward, ho!

BYU Winter 2026 is officially over, and I have officially crested into the latter half of my time here at this school! I thought last Fall was hard, but little did I know this semester would come and become the hardest time of my life period, not just with school (though school was intense too). By far my most draining and stressful collection of months I’ve experience in my almost 21 years on Earth. Nothing could have prepared me for what I had in store.

However, there is still so so many good things in my life this semester, for one, my friends are and have been consistently my rock and help me in my hardships, making them far less difficult than they’d otherwise be. I opened and closed my first big production at BYU and booked my first Ruth show! I learned more about myself as an actor and began to lay out my plan for my future. It was a hard time, but there were so many good things that came to be within. I’m glad I was able to see the good cuz otherwise, it would’ve been a much worse experience than I would’ve liked.

One last thank you to all the people involved in my life. It couldn’t be as wonderful as it is and I wouldn’t be the same without you. If I could tag you all, I would. I love you all so so dearly!

Only 4 more semesters to go.

BYU’s Twelfth Night (as Sebastian)

I spent the entirety of the first three months of 2026 working on this show and my goodness was it such a fulfilling experience!

This show was my BFA Acting Capstone. When this was first decided for me as such, I was unsure if it would end up being a project I’d deem worthy of being the “culmination” of my major (in quotes cuz I still have two more years). Now, I am 100% confident that this was the right pick for my capstone. This show was a major challenge but so worth the effort.

The best thing about this show was the people I got to do it with. My fellow actors in the cast are forever my family. The connections we developed and reinforced are some of the best that I have in my life right now. I wouldn’t trade the world for a different cast. They’re the ones that kept me going when the process got hard, and I am eternally grateful for their camaraderie. If music be the food of love, then they have been music in my life, and that music, that love, can give no place. But that’s all one!

I know last school year I did one big post but this semester was so jam-packed, and next semester definitely will be too, I’ve decided to break it up into multiple posts so you get more me! 😁

I said last year was my hardest but man was I not ready for this semester. With a very dense schedule focusing intently on classical works and the nitty gritty of various performance styles, I had a very hefty workload. I will still miss it, however. I loved every one of my classes and feel that I have grown so much as an artist through them. Here’s hoping my next few semesters will continue that trend!

Great Expectations was another thing that added to my workload. Though only attached to it for about a month, I am very proud of the work I got to do in the show as part of a tiny tech team and am very happy with the friendships and connections I formed and developed through the show. I will cherish what has been gained.

Piggybacking off of that, this semester has been incredible for me socially. My friendships have gotten so much stronger and I truly feel like I’m blossoming into such a social person (middle school me wouldn’t believe it!). The friendships I’ve developed this semester mean the world to me and I will not let the good ones fade into obscurity. They’re stuck with me whether they like it or not!

But seriously, thank you to everyone who made this semester so special. Here’s to the end of 2025!

SBSC’s The Sound of Music (as Max Detweiler)

Sound of Music is finally over! Though not only in this production, I’ve been acting as Max Detweiler in the Sound of Music for six months now (thank you BYU TMA 436 and Isabel). I am very proud of the work I’ve been able to put into this character over this past half year; it is definitely some of the strongest character work of mine to date.

This production was such a delight to be a part of. It was incredible getting to work and share the stage with new friends (both young and old) along with old friends I’ve been performing alongside for years now. Also a huge thank you to those who came to support the show! This is likely going to be my last SBSC show for a while and while I am excited for what projects are in store for me in the future, I’m going to miss this time with my home company. It’s time for me to say so long, farewell, but my love will survive; there’s no way to stop it.

SBSC Theatre Camp 2025!

Gonna be honest, one of the hardest years of camp for sure, but one of the most satisfying endings as we were able to put on an incredible show featuring the entire camp. This week featured my best costumes (and my weak attempt at being “The Jonas Brother”), best camp-wide counselor dynamic, and best overarching camp story (Brody vs Kendall). This is my last year as a counselor, and I think it was a pretty solid finale.

Rather than make two separate posts for my sophomore semesters like last year, I decided to do one big post compiling them both.

This year was definitely THE MOST difficult year of my short life but also the most fulfilling. For starters, I got accepted into the BFA Acting program which was an absolutely HUGE win for me. It wasn’t without struggles, tho. Mental health was constantly a pain, workloads and schedules were a nightmare, and a consistent lack of sleep (5 hours on a good night) only made the hardships harder to stand. Thankfully, I didn’t have to stick it out alone.

I had so many friends from last year help me at the start and I only made an exponential increase in friends since then. They made the difficult times bearable and made me want to get to the next day each day (if that makes sense). The darn tag limit stopped me from tagging everyone. Would if I could but there are simply too many people to credit for my sophomore year.

I got to involve myself in so many great projects such as Sincerely Silas Deane, The Cherry Orchard, Sound of Music, and Illusive Impression, as well as all my classes through the year. While the workload was hard, a majority of it was doing what I love. One thing is sure: my love for acting has only increased and will continue to increase as I continue to study at this gospel-centered school. Upperclassman years, here I come!

BYU’s The Cherry Orchard (as the Tramp)

Cherry Orchard has officially come to an end. This was by far the most time I spent working on a play ever (a whole 16 weeks including the run). Though I had a 2-minute scene, working on this show has done so much for me as an actor. It was really cool to get to work with so many driven people in the cast and on the production team. This is going to be a pompous speech: you may be able to sell a horse for a few rubles but I could never sell my time spent in the cherry orchard.
