I’ve never written a long paragraph for instagram but graduating with my masters deserves more than just a photo dump.❤️

This masters degree is proof that regardless of the adversity I have faced I am a strong, resilient and determined woman.

During my undergraduate degree I faced much misfortune and one day, when the time is right…I will share my story. When I started my Master’s, I made a promise to myself and God: I wanted to experience it differently. I wanted to be free. I wanted to be happy. And thankfully, that’s exactly what it became.

Just before applying for my Master’s, I almost lost my eyesight permanently. This experience completely changed my perspective on life. It reminded me that tomorrow is never promised and that every opportunity is worth giving my all. This was a huge, but silent wake up call for me.

My social media often shows the good - the holidays, the partying, the nice meals. But behind the scenes I’ve had sleepless nights, felt like I wasn’t enough, cried more times than I can count. And even after reaching goals, I’ve experienced something people rarely talk about—post-achievement depression. (Something I didn’t know about and had to research) I felt like I’ve worked so hard, believing I’ll feel complete, only to realise I am still healing from everything I’ve have had to survive to get here.

I’ve always been about making memories and loving life. And one thing I’ve always believed is that God has a purpose for my life and that success has my name written on it.

Throughout the hardship I’ve managed to laugh, have fun and show up for the people i love and care for.

I don’t just celebrate earning my masters degree,

I celebrate resilience, healing, growth, God’s faithfulness.And I celebrate the woman I’ve become.

This is the beginning of my story. The Opal Experience, we up from here! 💎
