POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Sitting at home, fighting the urge to skate whilst looking back at PCDH. At 145lbs & a numb front foot- I knew the chicanes after “bridge right” would be my weakest sector & Bruther, was it. I had the hole-shot every heat & I lead out of corner 3 in every heat except for heat one on Sunday which @dexmanning lead me out of. Despite all of that, I couldn’t keep it clean enough in the bottom section to hold off the wolves & my day was over way to soon. Normally, I’d have been Very disappointed in my performance but I was too stoked just getting to be there with my helmet ON. Doctors recommended against it, but the ank was movin and groovin 🤷‍♂️ I didn’t push into pain & surprised myself with a level of self control that I had yet been able to achieve in a setting such as this one😅
I have remained somewhat patient while waiting for my ticket to ride. One more appointment to be cleared for strength/mobility training. I have had to be more diligent with this injury than any other before. With no surgery needed & nothing showing itself directly on scans, mri’s & x-rays everything becomes particularly nuanced. Something is obviously going on but what ? As if that isn’t hard on its own, finding a PT that could handle those nuances & not just read me the webMd page about rehabbing my injury was a joke. I never did find a PT who I felt confident in (i blame insurance & my own lack of a well paying career) but I am very hopeful for this new program with a new crew. Updates coming maybe.. I like the idea of showing up to a few races & letting my work speak for itself. I’ll see how she goes & you will too when the time comes.
Holla at me if I missed/ mistagged any of your photos. Thanks Fam taken in Utah Olympic Park by @k1kleven

When I was little, I dreamt of opportunities like this one. Dreamt about them so much that homework piled up to the point my parents actually sold all of my skate gear hoping I would regain my focus. Well, some things are meant to be. They might not make sense to anyone else but when you know your path, you take it. @t_morelock_hr took me under his wing from day one. We met each other by chance at Braffs (which is a story all its own) when he & the team were testing a new batch of urethane railed boards & pucks just before the 2019 Devils Peak. My life took a turn for the better that day. Tanner, you made one of my biggest childhood dreams turn into some of my fondest memories. It may have been a short ride but nonetheless I am forever grateful for you and for our newly found brotherhood.
I am so thankful for everything that skateboarding has brought me & I intend to keep giving back. Boarding keeps me grounded & offers so many metaphors to life.
I’m still here, still dreaming.
Onto the next big thing.
Much Love!

Broke the 20ft mark for longest early grab yesterday. Thanks to @adam_hedrickao and @father_noodle for bringing us together yet again! And thank you to everyone who donated to Emersons cause. The skate scene is a wonderful thing to be a part of.
