Hola Amigos!

This piece is called “tu intención esta en tus manos”. Translating to “Your intention is in your hands”.

The evil eye has been in my life since I was little. It’s a big part of my culture and it helps me feel safe. My abuela used to teach me the meanings of the colors and wouldn’t let me leave the house unless I was protected.

Each Color means something different and can help you manifest things into your life when you use it correctly.

But the most commonly known one is The Dark Blue Evil Eye.
The Evil eye has been found through thousands of years of history across cultures, including in Latin America and parts of Asia. The symbol, most often depicted as four concentric circles in the shape of an eye, is used to ward off variations of evil intentions.
That meaning^^
The evil eye sees bad intentions before you do. A lot of times your bracelet or pendant will break or disappear as a warning sign when bad intentions are thrown your way.

WHO CAN WEAR THE EVIL EYE? The evil eye is not specific to any one religion or culture, and anyone can wear it as a way to protect themselves from harm. The evil eye is most commonly associated with the Mediterranean countries, but you can find it in many different cultures around the world.

What Power Does the Evil Eye have?

evil eye, glance believed to have the ability to cause injury or death to those on whom it falls; pregnant women, children, and animals are thought to be particularly susceptible.

An example of this is, people will compliment your child’s eyes and then when you get home their eyes will be red and puffy because the intentions were fake and ill mannered.

Bad emotion is very strong and VERY real.
Emotions can make your stomach turn and your body shake.
Not everyone is throwing bad intentions at you but the world is full different emotions that can get overwhelming and the evil eye helps neutralize and protect you.

These are just a few moments I captured from the last two Show & Tell events, and every single one has reminded me why this city has so much untapped talent.

Show & Tell isn’t just another open mic it’s a space where creatives of every kind get to share what they’re passionate about. Musicians perform songs, filmmakers screen their work, photographers showcase their latest projects, poets command the room, fashion designers debut new collections, dancers take the floor, and artists of every medium find an audience that’s genuinely excited to support them.

What stands out most is the community. Every event is absolutely packed, and the energy in the room makes it clear that Salt Lake’s creative scene is growing and thriving.

Whether you’re there to perform, network, collaborate, or simply be inspired, you leave wanting to create something yourself.

Huge shoutout to @zoekismet and @_cameron for bringing this vision to life, powering an event that’s quickly become a staple for local artists.

If you’ve been looking for a sign to put your work out into the world or just want to experience some incredible local talent, this is it. Come to the next one on August 18th. by @k1tosis
