Dear Football, where to begin…still trying to find the words and i cant. From my first time in pads to my last time in pads you have created memories that will last a lifetime. I still remember like it was yesterday when i was 7 my grandpa teaching me how to tackle on the sled, tears in my face cause it was an hour before practice in the Texas summer heat. Thats when i fell in love with the game. Not only did you provide me with memories on the field but off. Providing me with brothers that became family, two degrees i wouldn’t have otherwise got, new places i wouldn’t have seen, experiences i would not have lived. You taught me things nothing else could. How to work as a team, being vigilant, the importance of doing your job, how to persevere and adapt, the list can go on. You helped mold me into the man I am today and would not be who i am without you. For that reason I gave it my all; the blood, sweat, and tears. The joy, pain, and emotions: All left on the field. I was blessed with opportunities people dream about, honored to play as long as i have, and grateful at the time that was given to me. You Kept me out of trouble and gave me something to look forward too. No matter what, you were always my outlet and my peace. Even when i felt like the game didn’t love me, i love it. I honestly dont know where or who I would be if it wasn’t for you, and for that I owe you everything. You are the without a doubt the greatest team sport ever created. The way i could go on and on for pages writing about this amazing sport. Even though it is over, it will never be the end. You are apart of me forever. This maybe the beginning of a new chapter, or maybe I have a few more pages left in this one.. but whatever happens this is story i will never forget. A part of my life i will forever cherish. Who knew a kids game could leave such an impact on a man. Thank you for everything. I love you.
