I've been a little busy... Maybe you didn't know what @onevalleyfoundation did or stood for, maybe you did. I promise you this season you won't have any doubt how the power of Firebirds fans and now Lakers fans can impact a community.

To date One Valley Foundation has invested $1.9 million back into the nonprofit organizations in the Coachella Valley who are doing the hard work.

The Coachella Valley shows up to be entertained by hockey & now basketball, but they also buy 50/50 raffle tickets for a chance to win half of the "pot". The other half goes to amazing organizations like Martha's Village and Kitchen where I am standing here, filming a spot for our in game presentations encouraging you to join us at the 20th annual Thanksgiving Day 5k before you enjoy you day filled with family, football or giving thanks in other ways. Register at mvk5k.com

I'm showing up for our incredible valley filled with generous, caring people all working to make a better life for everyone. Join me... taken in Martha's Village and Kitchen by @k8spates

Today, I had the pleasure of visiting Animal Samaritans’ Critter Camp for Teens at the Desert Hot Springs Recreation Center.

This free program gives young people the opportunity to learn about animal care, safety, kindness and compassion—while possibly inspiring a future veterinarian, animal-care professional or volunteer.

The students met and even got to pet several exotic animals brought by an incredible mobile zoo, then continued the day learning more about animals and how to interact with them safely.

Programs like this are made possible through the support of Animal Samaritans’ many generous donors and community partners, and One Valley Foundation is proud to be one of them.

A wonderful program, a great group of kids and a very meaningful day! by @k8spates

Had the pleasure of representing @onevalleyfoundation and the @firebirds supporting @pegasustherapeutic riding center and sponsoring Thunder, a former polo pony, who now is elevating the capabilities of kids and adults with disabilities through therapeutic horseback riding. #community #education #access to #hockey by @k8spates
