the year of the horse / mixed media animation I made using “The Horse in Motion” (1878) (one of the first ever examples of stop motion film) converted to ASCII on paper with glitter and paint

I’ve been seeing so many horse themed works this year using experimental textures, ASCII, and claymation. I wanted to try my hand at the concept using mixed media. Thank you sooo much to my friend @baileyfossier for the idea of the source video. 💘🐎🐎

Not a new edit but an edit I didn’t post here. I made this project when the visualizers for “No Way to Relax When You are On Fire” by @dorajar_ came out in 2024.
This is very sweet and special to me because it was only my third mixed media project. Many many many more to come.

incredible mixed media video created by the sweet @k8vids ⭐️

when kate reached out to me to work together, it was such a dream! their use of textures and movement is so playful and human and so very puppet. as a person who luxuriates in the details, their attention to detail is impeccable! i love seeing how people interpret puppet and i am so amazed at what they created. i hope you love this delightful video too ♥️

gosh, i should really get those party packs restocked soon… lol by @k8vids
