Rocco’s PDC Protection

Some stuff to clean up but I’m happy with our showing. He missed his grip on the courage test which I’ve never seen him do but I’m still proud of him. taken in Frostbite Working Dog Club by @k9.liam

Willy maintaining the correct guard position with the decoy moving. I taught this on myself, and this was the first session putting it on a different decoy. Overall super happy but some cleaning up to do for sure. @duvalk9trainer with the quality work. taken in Saint Augustine, Florida by @k9.liam

New Patreon video is live discussing the importance of decoys holding their line and not stepping out prior to impact. Follow along with my progression in addressing a dog with persistent targeting and centering issues within her entries.

This video showcases the fallout that even brief exposure to unclear decoy pictures can have and how it may lead to dogs anticipating the target moving center, creating unpredictable and improper entries as well as unsafe conditions.

🧳 Uniform neutrality isn’t about making training look cleaner it’s about making the dog honest.

If your dog only performs when they see the sleeve, tug, ball, or suit, they’re responding to the equipment instead of the task. The goal is a dog that works because they understand the job, not because they’re cued by what’s hanging off someone’s body.

Removing visible equipment is a key step in building reliability. It forces the dog to focus on the behavior you’ve trained instead of external prompts. That’s what creates consistency when the picture changes in training or on the street.

In this video I break down how to introduce it without creating confusion.

If you want to see the full progression from equipment dependence to true operational reliability the complete breakdown is available on my Patre0n. 🧳 #graasrootsk9 by @k9.liam
