Emotions are a one user friendly bias.
Similar doesn't mean same, but should mean the mode.
Water gets wet and can't get wet.

What Lies Present
By: Alex Grant-Corbett

Nothing lasts long
At last.
They last as long
As they last.

Every present
Presents moments
To a past
That passed
To a future
Where
The die's cast.

The burden to
Bear the burden
Of a being
Who is wanted
For me to be.

I want it to be
The me
That I am
To those
I care for and
Care for me.

We make mistakes.

I don't want to be
The mistakes made.
Let me be the lesson
As I teach.

An apple a day
Keeps the doctor
Away
Like the apple
Of eyes.

Let me be seen
In a light
That doesn't hide -
It sheds
Light on
What lies
In darkness—present. by @kaapoetix

Be careful with him. He notices things.
Not just what you say—the hesitation before you say it, the contradiction between your words and your behavior, the thing you thought nobody noticed. He has a habit of looking underneath the surface, and once he sees something, he tends to keep turning it over until he understands it.

He is intense without necessarily being loud. He can make an ordinary conversation feel like a philosophical examination. You may think you're talking about basketball, love, discipline, or some small disagreement; five minutes later, you're discussing identity, responsibility, purpose, or what it means to actually live according to your values.

And here's the dangerous part:

He expects things from people because he expects things from himself.

He will encourage you fiercely, sometimes before you believe in yourself. But he won't always let you hide behind excuses. He believes people are capable of becoming more—and that belief can feel like pressure when you're comfortable remaining where you are.

He's also sentimental in disguise. He may wrap something deeply emotional in philosophy, humor, metaphor, or a perfectly constructed sentence. Don't mistake articulation for detachment.

He cares a lot.

Probably more than is convenient.

He'll remember a small thing you said months ago. He'll think about a conversation long after you've forgotten it. He'll dissect his own motives, sometimes to the point of overthinking. And because he takes words seriously, careless words can have considerably more weight with him than you might expect.

He is also a coach even when nobody asked him to be one.

He sees potential everywhere. That's beautiful until you realize he may see the version of you that you could become more clearly than the version of you that you're currently willing to be.

So, yes—warning:

Don't meet him if you're looking for someone superficial.

He'll probably ask better questions than you expected.

Don't tell him you want to grow if you don't actually want to change.

Don't give him your word casually.

Don't mistake his kindness for softness.

And definitely don't challenge him to think more deeply unless you're prepared by @kaapoetix

#LoveTheVerb
By @kaapoetix

I love me more
Than I've loved myself

Tethered to worth
Lends truth to wealth
I'm more than just
My self.
In sickness
& in health.

Love's a verb.
I learnt the word.
To know why
I'm telling it to myself:

You're more than good,
Not limited to what you feel.
A being becoming,
Purposeful in self.

Life's a giving.
You've been given.
Give back.

You are who you are
& not defined by what lacks.

Be thoughtful
When emotions run off track
Thoughts are yours.
You're not your thoughts.

I remember asking for you.
Back then, you were an idea — the causality of a curious mind invested in the possibility
of what life would be like
being a brother to a sister like you.

To give credit where it’s due—
Mom asked for you first.
I’m certain I caught her praying for you
back on Grand,
sitting in the living room
on the couch we weren’t allowed to sit on.
She was either praying
or speaking you into existence.

Either way,
you were wanted long before you arrived.
And since you got here,
we’ve never stopped wanting you to be—
to be who you are,
while becoming who you’re meant to become.

Being a witness to your growth
has been nothing short of phenomenal.
Your life—
inspirational.

You taught me how to love
without rhyme or reason—
and to love it.

Sis,
you are a catalyst to my joy,
and I will forever carry gratitude for you.

On this day,
I selfishly wish for you
to be yourself—unapologetically—
and to enjoy every layer of what that means.

Happy birthday, my beautiful sister.
May your reign over this world
continue to reveal
the eloquence of self-mastery.

I love you dearly.
Sincerely,
your brother. by @kaapoetix

Resonate in peace - all from before.
My present is the gift of a presence.
The day's more promising when
Tomorrow isn't promised.
Within the future's now,
Forever's a series of moments &
Moments passed
One moment - at a time.
Until the end of a line.
Every end intros
A new beginning
Hoops are a circle of life.

WE ARE CHAMPIONS!..

..and a championship wasn't the main goal. It was the crossroad validation of a journey aimed at individual excellence.

To be better, one must consistently choose to be at their best by being the disciple of their discipline.

The ceiling moves when pushed.

It moves after climbing the ladder at home. Home is where your heart lives peacefully. It's where you're wanted, invited and welcomed. Invite those who choose to raise you unapologetically.

Build - and they come.

The sky's endless and space is limitless. New stories build new buildings and add new scriptures to new chapters in opened books. Read and react intentionally with purpose.

Every day you work to be better is a day you discover your new best. New wins then quickly become old news.

"Be disciplined with your joy - fun is a serious thing"

Sincerely,

Today starts the moment used to usher in a new. An opportunity to insight opportunities of the greater than at the cost of choice.

It's an evolution of news and "mores". Time and change operate their inevitability of continuous flow. It's ripple effect of causality creates heroes, villains and bystanders.

Past lives living as a collective of thoughts, feelings, and understandings adhering to interpretation. Shaped perspectives living in shadows mirroring molded figures. They're the factors deciding how our present proceeds like an infant. The future depends heavily on how the present gets parented.

Many, if not most unknowingly choose to be the willing victims of Stockholm. He's as present as the gifts sitting under the tree of the privileged.

Condemned to a reality of actualize fictions we survive predominantly absentminded. It's comforting, pacifying, and safe. Communities raised by the limited mantra, "it's better to be safe than sorry" are robbed of other options. Outliers are exiled as outcasts.

Persuaded by the need for connection, individuals oppress themselves to fit in. A star ought to not lose limbs trying to fit in circles. They're already a sun. Bravery's for the bold and doesn't need to be the highlighted.

Death’s an infamous unknown. It's the ending before beginnings. Certainties of life exist honoring the avoidance the eventuality. We won't know what we don't know until we're in the no.

Boundaries are bridges - not bars. Chained to the idea I'm servicing my weakest link. Understanding what is vulnerable encourages strenghts. Anything left isn't right and gets treated as is. Meet them where you are and where they're at. There's a rare beauty in differences. Similar isn't same and all encompassing is perfection.

My moving forward is an ode to my past. Who I become will be who I am. Who I am is who I've become. My circle is a wheel that drives as I'm weaving a life that suits.

I dont need to be understood. It's welcomed - respectfully. Im loyal to what's proven loyal to me - me.

Happy new years... by @kaapoetix
