It’s hot out there! 🥵 @nystateparks is helping us stay cool with extended hours this week. 📸: North/South Lake in Haines Falls is one of our favorite watering holes to cool off! This is the largest campground in the Catskills and anyone can enjoy the lake for swimming, boating, fishing and more. Our first bedroom project is officially complete 💙 Meet Moody BoHo Blue, one of our guest rooms that feels like a grounded oasis. We took a stark-white room and painted her #840 Kensington Blue by @benjaminmoore. Replaced the ceiling light fixture. New bedding. Added linen curtains. New nightstands. A quaint and cozy sitting area perfect for reading. Artwork sourced from @the_antique_warehouse. Macrame to add some soft texture and warmth. And a pillowy rug underneath the bed for a pleasant landing. It was those final details—selecting the right artwork and lighting especially—that seemed to take us the longest, but creates the biggest impact. Looking forward to sharing some of the more eye-catching and fun updates we’ve made, but wanted to keep it real and share (and document!) the very first project we took on—getting a new well pressure water tank. 💧 This pressure tank acts as a water reservoir for the home, storing water under steady pressure to provide a consistent flow and reduce wear on the well pump. This tank ensures we always have a steady water supply throughout the house.      By no means was this a fun or sexy project, just expensive and hugely important! 😵‍💫 During our inspection we found our well pressure tank was cycling too frequently and was operating at far too high PSI (~180PSI!! The recommended PSI is closer to 40-60 😳). This high PSI was putting extra pressure on ALL the water pipes within the house, yikes. Knowing we’d need to replace this tank ASAP, we did ask for the sellers to give us a credit in the sale to compensate for the additional expense, which they obliged 🤑 Within 24 hours after closing on our house we had a plumber out to our new home, installing a brand new well pressure tank. 👨🏻‍🔧 Now, we can rest easy knowing our pipes aren’t on the brink of bursting and we have strong and steady water pressure throughout. 😅 #catskillmountains #newhomebuyer #firsttimehomeowner #homemaintenancetips by @kaaterskillpines
