Born in Treichville, Abidjan (CÔTE D’IVOIRE), Georges-Arthur Kablan Coffi is an Ivorian multidisciplinary visual artist, passionate about writing and philosophy. He will first study architecture before abandoning it in favor of painting.

Bathed since childhood in the artistic universe thanks to the master James Houra, who already gave him a glimpse of the magical world of painting and colors, he will be marked for life by this meeting.

The artist adopts an approach that fuses the complexity of the micro-moments of life with the dichotomy between the full and the empty. Using fragmented or modular visual compositions, he creates works that work like puzzles, reflecting the fragmented nature of our daily experiences, where the elements intertwine in a complex way.

Also referring to the profusion of information and the consumer society, he integrates media elements and contemporary symbols into his works, while leaving refined visual spaces to suggest emptiness and contemplation.

In this context, the use of a recycled paper support adds an additional dimension to its artistic vision: it symbolizes sustainability, reflection and environmental awareness, while contrasting with the transience of digital information. This contrast between the ephemeral and the sustainable offers a deeper reflection on the changing nature of information and on the influence of popular culture in our contemporary society. by @kablan_06

Inspiration KOUROUMA
L’âge du sang | Mixte sur toile | 80 x 100 | 2025

Ce qui m'a particulièrement marqué dans Les Soleils des Indépendances, c'est le personnage de Salimata, et plus précisément le passage où elle revit dans son corps et son esprit les violences de l'excision et du viol. C'est un moment d'une intensité brute, un texte traversé par la douleur, la honte et la solitude. "
Ce passage m'a saisi par la puissance de son langage et la vérité de ce qu'il raconte : une femme marquée dans sa chair, réduite au silence, prisonnière d'un destin tracé sans elle. Ce n'est pas seulement une scène littéraire; c'est une expérience sensorielle et existentielle, qui parle encore aujourd'hui à travers les réalités de nombreuses femmes. taken in La Rotonde des Arts by @kablan_06
