4 films picked by @kaboom23__

“Chofer de Praça” by Amácio Mazzaropi (1958) is a very special one. He was a powerhouse in my grandfather’s days. It shows my city nearly 70 years ago and portraits the figure of the “Caipira”, a person who would come to the big city from the rural areas, just like most of my ancestors came here, penniless and would fight for jobs, lead a very hard life for the future of their children, all of that with a little laughter and a lot of music.

“Amici Miei” by Mario Monicelli (1975) and almost every old italian movie I love very deeply. I remember watching it as a kid with my mother, who studied them. I am a comedy guy, but not just any comedy. Italian comedy has that flavour of bittersweetness that reaches, I think, my core.

“All Quiet on the Western Front” by Edward Berger (2022), this one is a little different, but it really moved me. As a kid (I really don’t know why) I loved war movies. I believe this is the true anti-war movie, released one century after The Great War. It makes you feel as if you were there and shows, I believe, how useless war really is and how little human cost means to the powerful who don’t even get their boots dirty. Also it made me cry a lot. I almost never cry, if you have listened to “Coração Congelado </3” maybe you understand, but honestly I don’t even understand it, I wish I could cry more. In the conflict filled world that we live in it puts into perspective a lot of things.

“Boleiros - Era uma Vez o Futebol…” by Ugo Giorgetti (1998) is another Brazilian one, made in the year I was born, shows with comedy (that reminds a bit the Italian ones) the treacherous ways that Brazil works, showing the backstages behind the world of football, my country and the world’s most beloved sport. But not only that, it has a tenderness when it comes to portraying fictional stories (that are based on real ones of this world) and a nostalgic feel to it. My mother worked with the director and I had a chance to meet him a couple of times, he is very dear to my heart. by @kaboom23__

Interview with the Brazilian singer and songwriter @kaboom23__ 💥

From the classic Bixiga neighborhood of São Paulo, Bernardo Leão aka Kaboom 23 was born in Samba, evolved in Hip Hop and grew on Brazilian Funk.

The singer & songwritter walks inbetween poetic simplicity and complexity, always in touch with the people. Influenced by rhyme freestlying and also has influences of icons in Brazilian Music like Cartola, Jorge Ben and Mano Brown. by @kaboom23__

🤞AMANHÃ CLIPE “O Mar e Te Amar”❤️

Fiquem ligados🙏
