If I could go back and get a glimpse of a simple moment like this in my single years…I would see that God’s timing in my life is so much bigger than just me.It was also about the work He was doing in my husband’s life, and the best time to bring us together. It was about these babies He’s blessed us with, and His purposes for their lives.In Scripture whenever anyone waits, we see that the blessing they waited for was bigger than just them. HOME RENOVATION UPDATES 🏡🔨My husband and father-in-law have spent most weekends for the past year working on our home addition. Read through for some updates and thoughts on the whole process. 🤍 We’re still a few steps out from drywall, but starting to research and make decisions for interiors. Help me decide on cabinet colors! The Bible isn’t something we read to check a box and “be a good Christian.” It’s God’s living and active Word that we read so we can know Him…and the more we know Him, the more we will be transformed into His image. When we say we want to do great things for the Lord, we often picture visible things: speaking on stages or going on mission trips, leading worship or creating Christian content, writing books or launching businesses, stirring revivals or moving somewhere to start a new ministry.And those things aren’t bad—often, they are beautiful callings from the Lord.But how often do we overlook the very things God values even more? The unseen, unpraised, unglamorous things...like forgiving the person who hurt you, or keeping your heart free from bitterness, or repaying a wrong with kindness, or overlooking an offense, choosing humility over being understood, or looking to someone else’s interests above your own, or remaining obedient even when nothing seems to change?Slaying Goliath earned David applause, but forgiving Saul revealed the fruit of his heart.Sometimes “doing big things for God” means being known by many people, and maybe even praised for your victories—like David was when he returned home from defeating Goliath. But that is never the goal. And more often than not, “doing great things for God” simply means being faithful with what He’s placed directly in front of you—even when it’s unseen, costly, or requires death to self rather than recognition from the world.P.S.
