To my first Comrades Marathon finish 🥇🥂That was a lesson on what it means to dig deep! I found strength while in pain, I found strength with every stride I took in that last half. When my body was refusing, my mind had to take charge.

There is just something beautiful about setting audacious goals and going out there to achieve them.
And @comradesmarathon was a true litmus test.

It truly was the Ultimate Human Race. You embrace the pain and it rewards you with so many lessons. I am really grateful for my friends and family. And to everyone who was seconding, tracking on the app and cheering on the sidelines. Thank you! It kept me going. taken in Comrades Marathon by @kaddy_vii

I grew up watching this race on tv and the dream to run it has been burning in me ever since I was a laaitie. Tomorrow I take on the “Ultimate Human Race” and turn it into a reality.
It really is a privilege to line up and take on the challenge. It will take a lot, it will ask a lot and hopefully I will have the answers.
Like many before me, they say Comrades changes you, and I look forward to the kind of man I will be after crossing that line.

Another ultramarathon finish ✅ I would honestly be lying if I said I was not scared days before and the morning of the race. Fearing what happened to me last year, the scenes kept on replaying in my head.

It has really been an emotional roller coater getting ready for this race. Recovering from a 6 months long injury, the early mornings, the long runs, the hill repeats, seeing my physio twice a week and everything between that comes with marathon training.

There was a moment in race where I had to stop being scared and believe in the amount of training I have put in to finish this race strong and still get to enjoy myself while doing it. That’s the beauty about running, you are in charge of the rewards system. You set audacious goals and work relentlessly towards them.

I had such great race, when it started hurting I sat in that pain, when it got tough I picked my head up. I remembered my managers words “run with a massive heart”. I smiled throughout the race and reminded myself that I am here to have fun!

As much as it’s a one man sport, there has been so much support in the background. Thank you to friends, family and the running community. You selflessness doesn’t go unnoticed ❤️🫂

The thing about marathons is that, you are literally in charge of your own rewards system. Today I ran with nothing but a massive heart! And it paid off 🤞🏾

Ultramarathons are hard! But that is why we do the hard things. They keep us alive and teach us hard lessons. They reward the disciplined and punish the ones with an ego.

A big thank you to the community that supports these wild things we chase. To our loved ones, friends and ones we get to share the road with. KEA LEBOHA ❤️🫂

Early season opener for this years running calendar. Just grateful that I get to race again and enjoy myself. This race just reminded me how hard marathons are!

Reflecting back on this project. I’ve had the privilege of working on one of the most exciting projects of my career to date by hosting the Wunna Run 5K in Johannesburg.
