I still cannot believe that I am writing this. What a blessing these past four years have been 🫶🏼
Through the late nights, early mornings, and long weekends, I truly couldn’t have asked for anything better. The memories, the experiences, the lessons, and especially the people have changed my life forever. I am forever indebted to BYU for taking a chance on a young kid who just wanted to make videos. Thank you to all the teams, coaches, and staff who trusted me, welcomed me in, and made me feel like part of the family.

Thank you to everyone who made this place feel like home (you know who you are). I’ll miss every part of it more than I can put into words. There won’t be a day I don’t miss this great university and everything it stands for. BYU will always be family to me, and I’m excited to be cheering from a different part of the sideline.

where to begin…. I am extremely grateful to have been apart of this team, even if I am “just the video guy.” Thank you for letting me in and getting to feel like a Champion myself. I am so proud, proud of the grit and determination. This team never gave up even when the odds were stacked against them. No. 8 seed out with some hardware. What’s next? Many of you know that my Mother passed away from Leukemia when I was younger. During the marathon this weekend, I saw someone with her name on their bib. That moment took me by surprise. What are the odds someone here has the same name? How cool is it that I get to run this race “with” my Mom.

I’m beyond grateful for a body that can run 26.2 miles. I personally don’t always think about how incredible that is. To move, breathe, and push forward when so many can’t.

The first 18 miles felt amazing and went by really fast. By mile 20, though, I hit the infamous wall. The pain in my feet and muscles was brutal. I wasn’t tired, my cardio felt great, I fueled well, and I was so close to the finish, but part of me wanted to stop at mile 22. Remembering why I run, and who I run for, gave me the strength to finish. To the Carrie, from Fruit Heights, thank you.

I am grateful for my friends and family who lift me up every day, and for a body that keeps showing up. Thank you Bailey for being my biggest supporter in all aspects of life everyday.
