I wish everyone could know what it feels like to have a friend who sees you as ✨art✨

Not only does @kadebailey.co take the most insane pics. She’s also an earth angel 🤍 sometimes it can be hard to make new friends as an adult. I’ve never had a large group of friends, but the close friends I do have are absolutely the best humans I’ve ever met.

I hired Kade to do my branding shoot a few years ago after we worked together on the philocaly hair campaign. We didn’t even meet that day but I was so obsessed with her work I knew I needed her to take my pics.

We clicked during my photoshoot and ended up going to LA and Palms together a few weeks later because why not… and now we’re obviously getting married because I can’t live without her. She’s one of those girls that you know is speaking only good things on your name even in the rooms you’re not in.

Lesson here is - you absolutely must be open to connection even as an adult! Have the awkward coffee date. Be weird. You never know what kind of friends you will meet that will change your existence for the better. ❤️‍🔥

Gahhhh @megan.dalsey.photography makes Canada look GOOD. The best part of this beautiful craft is all the women I get to meet and the most annoying part is how far away they live. This chick is cool. I wanna be her friend. Look how cute her kids are.

We drove far between two locations to get the shots I envisioned for this session for this Philly fam and Megan was so in, easy going, beautiful, and had her crew styled to perfection. I heard Oprah say her soul is ten gallons of love trying to force pint size people to hold her heart.

I wish more people would stop trying to be easy to love. Human beings have so much more capacity than we give ourselves credit for. We have survived famine and world wars. Surely, we can handle a broken heart.

I find myself saying, “don’t break my heart” out loud a lot lately, but what I think I’m really saying is, I hope I don’t break yours which I’ve been known to do a time or two.

I spent my life not knowing how easy I was to love gripping too tight to pint size lovers and trying to shove my own 10 gallons into spaces that couldn’t hold me.

When I stopped gripping, love didn’t quit. The lovers I shrank for didn’t run when I expanded. They stayed, they begged, and I ironically, I ran. I ran back into the arms of the one who has always had 10 gallons of love to give me. Me.

And now before bed I hold my own hand and feel the delicacy of my fingers.
I say “I love you” out loud until I really hear it.

I am ten gallons of love and passion and grief and anger and excitement and wild and I will run wild through this beautiful life with those who are just as wild to run with.

Wishbook

Being married to my college sweetheart taught me that passive love is not enough for my whimsical spirit. I will sit and obsess over the way a rose curls into itself falling deeper in love the more I study it and I’ve decided I require a love that does the same.

In fact, I fell in love again today, as I drove by a woman in a pick up truck with her visor down. Her hair tucked back into a bun, putting powder on her chin, one hand on the wheel. She reminds me of how I like lighting candles with a match even though I almost always burn my fingers.

Look around.
Everyone’s smoking in their cars again and I’m finally free to fall in love with every facet of life without making myself more palatable for you to eat.

A man I recently fell for has a gorilla painting playing the guitar on his bedroom wall. The number of roses he has given me surpasses the days of knowing him and I’m reminded that being loved is a treat and my oh my is he tasty. by @kadebailey.co

My latest time in the desert was a tripppp. I snapped a few photos for @shopcindyjane then embarked on a solo mission with my rented mustang convertible and the desert heat. I met incredible artists, vintage shop owners & designers, photographers, and strangers during my four days exploring Palm desert, Joshua Tree, and Yucca. I hit every thrift shop I could find, ate pineapple dole whip more than once, and found myself at home staying at @corral_acres_joshua_tree.

@corral_acres_joshua_tree is nestled into the JT hills. I woke early with the sun, enjoyed the hot tub & cold dip in the cowboy pool, sat in the fire pit, and photographed each carefully curated part of my home away from home.

Thank you so much for allowing me to stay & photograph your beautiful home @corral_acres_joshua_tree 🌵🌞

I ended the trip driving to Orange county, lying alone at the beach, then finding a burger shack with an insane view & chatting with strangers until sunset.
