Showcasing our work along with many other designers as part of THE THINNING VEIL exhibition curated by @__nurturebynature__

what feels familiar, even when you’ve never stood there before?
The Thinning Veil explores the charged space between material and myth. Where landscape, memory, and object converge.
In a culture flattened by screens, this exhibition invites you back into physical presence. Texture. Weight. Light. Ritual.

Featuring new work by:

Ethan Streicher
Anne Greene
Aydan Hüseynli

It still feels surreal seeing our lights printed in the @nytimes — 8/31 is officially our favorite day of the year❤️‍🔥

Especially grateful for being included in a curation of products that add comfort to life; our lights are made with a mission in mind, and it means everything that the story we are trying to tell resonates and is recognized as the core of our work. Thank you Yelena @morozy for seeing our lights and giving us such a special moment ✨

Thank you to everyone for all the interest and the thoughtful website feedback—notes taken! We’ll be improving the site and replying to inquiries over the next few days.

In the meantime, we have a Labor Day sale with 15% off until 9/5 🤫

Have a great long weekend! by @kadns.co

KĀDNS (@kadns.co) emerged from two industrial designers’ desire to escape tech industry speed for something more meaningful. Echo Zhan and Viola Yingqiu Huang discovered lighting as the perfect medium to blend thoughtful design with artistic expression, launching their studio in 2022 with a mission to illuminate emotions rather than just spaces.

Their Horizon Collection captures the natural transitions of sunsets and sunrises through moving light patterns that shift and change in real-time. We love how they’ve created lighting that functions as both functional illumination and meditative art, encouraging people to slow down in our chaotic world. The collection includes three distinct pieces: Revolve with its mouth-blown glass shade, Canvas featuring their custom cocoon resin material, and Eclipse with its metaphorical time passage design.

The technical development involved extensive experimentation with dichroic film and moving light sources. Initially using stepper motors, they eventually switched to animated LED strips that mimic the same movement without physical parts, eliminating noise while maintaining smooth motion. Canvas emerged from a happy accident during a photoshoot when they draped fabric over Revolve’s base, leading to breakthrough material innovations including their own cocoon-layered non-woven fabric.

Each light moves through one-minute cycles by default, designed as daily anchors that bring viewers back to the present moment when life feels overwhelming. Drawing from Attention Restoration Theory, their lights offer “soft fascination” that helps the brain recover from fatigue, creating restorative spaces where people can find calm and connection in their daily routines. by @kadns.co
