Why do people leave your video without even watching it?

After 7 years of editing professionally, I came to an uncomfortable conclusion: editing doesn’t decide whether people watch. The hook does.

The brain decides in 3 seconds if it’s staying. And attention isn’t maintained — it has to be renewed every 2–4 seconds.
