Dear Shani

October 7th is here, but you are not. And the world feels a little quieter today. The air moves differently. Softer somehow, yet it reaches me all the same. I feel you in it. In the way the curtains breathe, in the way the trees lean and listen. I think of you as the wind. Free now, unbound by any one place. You wander through the fields, across the hills, over the water. You don’t have to stay anywhere. You don’t have to belong anywhere. You are everywhere.

Sometimes I watch the branches sway and wonder, are you stopping here for a moment? Are you touching the leaves just to say hello? When the breeze passes over my hair, I wonder if it’s you. When it rushes past, I wonder if you’re laughing, running again, wild and light.

Maybe you visit the river to see it shimmer, or the sea to remember how wide freedom feels. Maybe you dance with the flowers as they bow, or whisper secrets to the trees that have stood too long in silence.

And when the storm comes, I wonder if it’s because your spirit is strong and alive, full of all the things you could never say. When the world grows still and breathless, I think maybe you’re resting. Maybe you’re near, listening close, unseen but not gone.

I look at the wind now and don’t feel quite so lost. Because I know you are in it. In every gust and every hush - and though I can’t see you, I feel you everywhere.

The shell of a snail is like a spaceship 🚀

Look at this beautiful creature that I found outside yesterday. There is something remarkable about him. If you look closely at the shell, you can see there is quite a large part that was damaged and has since healed and regrown.

This one reminds us of the nearly supernatural strength and resilience. A perfect balance between heaven and earth, nature and faith. The whole universe inside a tiny little shell. by @kaffiholen

Ever since I can remember, tattoos were a really foreign subject to me. I didn't hate them and there also never was any prejudice towards people who had them, but to me this was merely a characteristic. Some people just have tattoos and others don't, that's all.
Once I was even close to getting one, thanks to a friend in the past who took me to her tattoo artist, but that man was really rude so I pulled out of it last minute.
Then, the idea of getting a tattoo wasn't even on my radar for a very long time. Life wasn't kind and there were so many silent battles to be fought.

But then I learned about Shani Louk and the 7th of October. Even if I never met her in this life, her light ignited a spark in my soul that started a spiritual transformation.
Shani reminded me of the fragility of life. How short the journey on this earth actually is. How precious and beautiful it is to be alive and to cherish this gift from God every moment we get to experience it. To always be honest, peaceful, happy and grateful.

Those are the principles she lived by. Those are the ideals that make her a saint. Her example is to be honored and followed.

Be alive. Remember and honor her. And if you want to -

Get a tattoo.
