A little bit different of a college experience.

The last four years I was lucky enough to experience JMU sports from a unique perspective. From a record breaking College Gameday to upsetting Wisconsin in March Madness and finally facing Oregon in the College Football Playoffs. With a great director, @jamesgutschow , and an incredible staff pushing me to become a better creative and person each day.

Outside of James Madison, I spent a summer on Cape Cod working for the Cape Cod Baseball League, made my way back home for the Rumph Classic every August, teamed back up with Nate Goldstein during an internship with the Premier Lacrosse League, reunited with Matt Neff to capture a historic UVA win over FSU, and spent my final week of college at Churchill Downs covering the Kentucky Derby.

Kentucky Derby 2026

Extremely grateful to have joined the social team for the 152nd Kentucky Derby. Little wins.

As I was thinking through an idea for a piece centered around both of our basketball programs heading into the Sun Belt Tournament, I found $20 in my pocket, and it sparked this concept.

Little wins matter in life. They keep you motivated on hard days, and sometimes they come as small surprises, like finding $20 in an old pair of pants or free cookies in the office.

Those same little wins show up on the court. Winning the opening tip, diving for a loose ball, drawing a charge, finishing an and-one. Moments that may seem small, but can shift the momentum of a game.

My goal with this project was to show how these little wins stack up, both in life and in basketball, creating something athletes and everyday joe can relate to. by @kafilmedit
