“I’d give my life to be dead…” From director Michele Soavi (The Church, Stage Fright) comes a macabre masterpiece, 1994’s CEMETERY MAN, also known aptly as DELLAMORTE DELLAMORE (Of Death, Of Love). This Italian-French-German co-production stars British actor Rupert Everett (My Best Friend’s Wedding) as Franceso Dellamorte, a graveyard keeper tasked with putting down the dead that rise each night. Despite his gristly job, Dellamorte is a romantic at heart. But is he free to find love, or is his fate bound to something far darker? And what does the Angel of Death have to do with all of it? Inspired by Tziano Sclavi’s novel Dellamorte Dellamore and his comic character Dylan Dog (who was visually based on Everett), this film is equal parts scary, comedic, and sexy, with surprising surreal and philosophical developments as the plot develops. A must see film, straight from the cold expanse of Hell to ring in Halloween! taken in 4 Star Theatre by @kafka.drag

We're just a few days out from our screening of the best video game film adaptation of all time, Takashi Miike's ACE ATTORNEY! Long acclaimed but criminally under-seen, this is also one of the best court films ever made and Media Meltdown is using it as an opportunity to go to court ourselves with a preshow drag trial live on stage! Don't miss the madness this Sunday at the 4 Star!

Consider yourself served because next month, Movie Madhouse is headed to court with "Ace Attorney"! From the iconic director of "Audition" and "Ichi the Killer" Takashi Miike (who just happens to have a birthday today), this 2012 adaptation of the 2001 Capcom release "Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney" has been dubbed by some as “the best video game movie ever” yet remains criminally under-seen. Guilty as charged!

Following the murder of his mentor, rookie defense attorney Phoenix Wright is launched into his first major trial as he squares off against his childhood friend, prosecutor Miles Edgeworth, in a case where his mentor’s sister, spirit medium Maya Fey, is unjustly accused of the crime. And that’s just the beginning as things ramp off into the wild world of law & order that dips into the the supernatural! So what’s the verdict? You get to watch this incredible film full of murder, ghosts, lake monsters, homoerotic courtroom drama, and some insane lace front wig game! Court is adjourned.
