BEN DID GO 11.0. Dedicated to Ben Carlson and Brian Olson. 🤍🌊
Ambassadors Luke, Maddix, and Kaiwi paddled alongside an incredible group of watermen and waterwomen in honor of Ben Carlson, completing a 30-mile paddle from Catalina to Newport Beach.

A test of physical strength, mental determination, and camaraderie in a pursuit bigger than themselves.

Congratulations to all of the athletes who paddled on Saturday in honor of Ben Carlson.

Starting at dawn, the group paddled more than 30 miles from Catalina Island to Newport Beach, coming together to honor Ben’s life, legacy, and love for the ocean.

A powerful day on the water, and a meaningful way to keep his memory alive.

We’re excited to be partnering with @olukai for the upcoming Ben Did Go 11.0 Paddle on September 19th!
As we look ahead to this year’s event, this video looks back at last year’s paddle; The people, purpose, and community that make the Ben Did Go possible.
This year, three members of the OluKai team will be paddling with us: lifeguard and Eddie Aikau Big Wave Invitational winner Luke Shepherdson (@casualluke), former North Shore lifeguard and big-wave surfer Kaiwi Berry (@kaheevay), and North Shore surfer and waterman Maddix Alotis (@maddix_alotis).
Their participation continues to strengthen the connection between the Ben Carlson Foundation and Hawaii’s water community. We’re proud to share Ben’s story, grow awareness of the Foundation’s work, and bring together people committed to ocean safety and service.
Thank you to OluKai, Luke, Kaiwi, and Maddix for being part of this year’s paddle.
