I spent the past month in hungary and romania with 40 teenagers, most of it alongside the roma kids in baia mare.

we went knowing that we couldn’t change their circumstances; generations of poverty and exclusion don’t move overnight just because a humanitarian group shows up for a couple weeks. but a couple weeks is enough time to dance, laugh, and learn names. enough time to help kids feel seen, and to be changed by the people you came to be with.

Just when I thought these two couldn’t be more fun, in-love and adventurous, they texted me asking to do a 5am cliff-jumping shoot on the morning of their wedding day—and I am SO GLAD they did! Their day was full of laughter, love and pure joy!!! Congrats to this amazing couple!!! 🎉

Olen kotona! I’m home! For the past 2 years I’ve been living in Finland a volunteer and representative for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I learned Finnish, connected with the culture, learned about my Finnish ancestry, and came to love the people so much. As a missionary I served, loved, learned what about others beliefs, and taught about what I believe. I gained a greater respect and love for all religions and religious people. It was 2 years of trying to focus less on myself and more on others and their lives, stories and challenges.

Starting Monday I will be serving as a full time missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Finland for the next two years.
