IMIMW VLOG #1: THE BEGINNING. I'm not here to rest on my laurels. Creators create, im hear to make art and art is constant. I've decided to make a 7 song EP between albums. Right now it is important to me to define my signature sound. So you always know what to expect from me musically. Expect Soul, expect Feeling, Expect big cinematic live instrumentation, expect a stream of consciousness, vulnerability, angst, and a crafted well thought perspective. Expect me to sound like noone else. This is the beginning. The road to 'I Move In Mysterious Ways'. The process starts with the music. I will deliver. #KaiPHNX #HIPHOP #soul #consciousness by @kai_phnx

For some being a father is something they become, thats true. For some its just the thing you're supposed to do before you die, thats true enough. But for me, im interested in being a father. The opportunity of it all. Fatherhood isnt about taking care of your kids, its about getting the opportunity to show how to be a good human. They watch, you show. You can tell them how they're supposed to be with their siblings, but then they're gonna see how you interact with yours. You tell them to watch how they talk to you, but they gone watch you talk to your parents. You fail infront of them, you redeem yourself infront of them. The more you work on you infront of them, the more tools they have in their toolbox to repair themselves. You dont raise them, you raise yourself infront of them. I learned that from a bunch of men that succeeded in front of me. And being around many men who's decisions cost them the Opportunity to be a human infront of their children. Happy father's day to all the men who enjoy fatherhood. by @kai_phnx

My father turns 70. Its an amazing thing and its also weird. You have versions of your parents that despite you both aging you see them as. And version 70 is not something you imagine. I've always known that my father was a unique & distinct human. Many different elements to him but all of those elements were to the extreme. He was the show, the energy in the room mostly orbited him and his big personality. He was the unquestionably the leader of most situations. He seemed bigger than life, fearless. I would tell my young self, "I gotta be like that". He was good with women, extremely charming, masculine, and yet jarringly funny & unserious. He was a good time. Women were drawn to him and I would watch them watch him. I would tell my young self, "I gotta be like that". Extremely creative, artistic, musical, full of ideas and knowledge of history of the arts. It seemed like no matter what we were into, as time passed by that he could just adapt to it artistically. He could be involved no matter his age. He never seemed out of style. Ageless. I would tell my young self., "I gotta be like that. Extremely competitive, a decorated multi-sport athlete, that drive never left him. He pushed us as kids, pushed and pushed. As an adult, he competed against me, wanted to beat me in something to prove to me and himself. No matter what his age was. I would tell myself, "I gotta be like that". He was militant, intelligent, introspective, and challenging and very pro-black & afrocentric. He made me, question, read, and listen to myself. He was extremely deep and knowledgeable and people looked to him for answers. I would say to myself, "I gotta be like that". Now I have watched him grow older. I've watched him in real time change & evolve at an age where most people feel that they dont have to. I've challenged him, we've fallen out, we've healed and go closer & stronger. He kept all the aspects of himself that I admired. Now as I age, I look back at my life, who I was, how i was; I say to myself "Im just like him". Happy birthday old man. I love you by @kai_phnx
