On this page, I usually spotlight artists worth your ears, music stories, and events I’m covering, but today I get to share something that’s ours.

My first collaborative single is out, made with someone who’s become one of my favorite people to create with: the talented producer and diva, @kaiantipas

🫖 Story time, if you want to stick around.

Kai and I met at @indigosoulnyc through a singer-songwriter circle hosted by @ellawylde …the kind of meetup where strangers sit together, talk about the music they’ve made, and share the music they’re still dreaming up.

That was us. Two people talking about sound before we ever made any together.

After a couple of meetups, something clicked, and we decided to just go for it. Kai has this gift for building house productions that transport you, like stepping out of a club in the ’90s, leather jacket on, cigarette in hand, the night still young.

The second I heard the demo, something in me lit up. That feeling pulled the lyrics and melody out of me for “overgrown.”

This song is for anyone who needs a little more confidence to get out of a situation that’s keeping them stuck. It’s about standing in your truth and leaving behind something you’ve simply… overgrown.

We hope the song hits home for you the way it did for us. 🖤

Huge thanks to @ani_klang for the mix, @darrylswan for the master, and @jaketavill for coordinating it all.

“overgrown” is out now on Spotify and Apple Music.

And this is just the beginning. I’ll be releasing more new music under my artist name, @themonarchjones, so keep an eye out for more goodies in the coming months. ✨ by @kaiantipas

“overgrown”, my collab w/ Monarch Jones, is officially out now 🌱✨

So much thought, care, and passion went into this track, and we are beyond excited to finally be sharing this dancefloor freedom track with you all. What started as a simple demo idea I had became a full-scale production once Monarch joined in, and from there it grew exponentially, so I’m happy to finally let this song go out into the universe as it was always fated to be ✨
