October will be a month of transcendence! "Transcendant Femme" is an immersive gallery that's narrative is about my journey of becoming, belonging and self actualizing. As an artist I believe we help translate culture and what the human experience feels like. This exhibit invites people to inquire about who they are to themselves first and how that relates to society.
All month we will have 20 different workshops and events on mind, body, spirit connection. Ranging from tea ceremonies and yoga meditations from community discussions on culture and self identity to even a silent disco!
Oh and did I mention that all events and admission will be FREE!

A few years ago I was on a huge custom clothing kick where I made a bunch of custom jeans, tees, hoodies and sweat pants. Some of yall might remember when I was bleach designing tees like crazy too and might have ordered one from me.
Well earlier this summer I had given one of my homies (shout out @paige.mcgubbage ) a pair of jeans I had been holding on to for a while. Even though I really liked the design and quality of the jean it did'ng seem to be a catch for the places I was vending at the moment. But when they tried them on, I knew that these jeans were supposed to be theirs. They still message me today about how much people like them while their out raving. Who would've known these would turn into party pants and a great conversation starter.

Artist remember that if things don't pop off immediately with your art it doesn't mean that the work you've done isn't valid. All it takes is being in the right space and/or the right time.

Becoming an oral historian has been one of the best side quests I could've gone down. In 2022, I was asked to help collect stories from residents that live in the near Westside, for the archives for the @cspioneersmuseum and ever since then I've collected incredible local stories from people who've helped shaped this city for the museum and multiple organizations.
Storytelling is a deep cultural practice that I've been called into. In some ways I feel like I've been primed for this work given my background as an artist. But I would like to think that growing up in intergenerational spaces where elders guided me and where I had the opportunity to witness them being great role models had a lot to do with it as well.
Please go and visit the latest exhibit at the museum if you haven't seen it yet. Take your kids, friends and family on a trip to discovering both the past and PRESENT histories of Colorado Springs.

Edited this painting from 2018 for my mama. The title of the piece is "Merkabah" and its done in oil. If I were to analyze why I named it that it might be because merkabah means light body and is sacred geometrical shape often used as a symbol for protection. So the piece to me represents feminine protection. Which is great cause that's who my mom is. by @kaigaynor

Sunday was indeed a fun day! One of my side quests lead me to learning about medieval ink making and scripts at the @uccshellercenter . Such a great short demo! We made goose feather quills and was even able to take some ink home with us. One thing about me is that I LOVE to discover materials and am an avid art supply collector. All that's left for me to acquire to complete this medieval kit are some animal skins.

Fun fact this ink will erode paper over time so it is best used on skins. And with that being said, DO NOT get this on your own skin cause it will stay for a LONG time. Now, I did ask the lady demoing if you can use it as a temporary tattoo, which she did not have a definite answer for me. But wouldn't that be sick?!
Its color turned from a nutty brown to a deep plum black, when the iron compound was introduced. So its got a beautiful hue when dry.

My babies! I'm excited to be in the space where I can create more designs again! I really love making stickers and cool designs for people to feel connected with. Although selling has been a love struggle in someways here in the Springs or in OCC, it all feels worth it when I see people repping the merch or those of yall that tell me that my art has inspired yall to create more yourselves.

For this week’s throwback post, we are highlighting our event with @blkwomenatcc on 2/12/26!! Mobile Arts had the pleasure of celebrating Black History Month. Through that partnership, we were able to continue to uplift local black artists, businesses, and the campus community by helping to create a vibrant and fun atmosphere for everyone to enjoy.

Shout out to talented local artist @kaigaynor for supporting this vision for the past three years. Thank you to @natiliasibert_fitwithnatilia for getting people’s bodies moving and grooving 💃🏾🕺Finally, we had delicious food catered from Ricky’s Island Cafe @rickys_island_cafe. We also had the pleasure of showcasing the fabulous work of the @insideoutys folx from a previous Black History Month collage workshop!

We hope to continue this meaningful work and support our black owned businesses and communities. The work doesn’t stop here or in February. We hope that everyone is able to continue to uplift and support these beautiful and talented individuals 💚💛🖤❤️ by @kaigaynor
