8 thing we’ve learned in 8 years of marriage…

We are learning new things every year about marriage and about ourselves. We nowhere near have it figured out we are a hot mess just like anyone else lol but here are a few things that we have found to be super important in creating the strong bond that we have today ♥️ hope this helps someone out there!!

1. Make up and apologize as passionately as you argue. If you’re guna argue and say things in the heat of the moment then you have to sit down, hash it out, and apologize. Don’t sweep it under the rug the passion has to continue into the apology.

2. Pray over each other. Pray protection and peace over one another. Praying together in general creates a bond.

3. Friendship is the gateway to romance. Romance happens naturally when you enjoy each other’s company and character. Attractions grows from feeling understood and appreciated for the friend that you are to each other.

4. Give full attention and eye contact when you’re talking. Nothing can make you feel more pushed to the side than when your partner is talking to you but also looking down at the phone or something else. Eye contact is basic respect that we should be giving to most people but especially our spouse.

5. Keep the fun! Stay young at heart. Life can get heavy and stressful. Your spouse needs to be someone you can let go with and feel the vibrancy of life with. Let loose, dance in the kitchen, tell stupid jokes with a glass of wine, whatever!!

6. Verbalize expectations and needs. This is a big one we have learned. Just because you have been with someone a long time and know them well doesn’t mean they can read your mind. We are multidimensional beings that are ever growing and changing. To grow alongside each other and not apart is the ultimate goal. That comes with communication communication COMMUNICATION. Talk more than you think necessary lol.

7. Be creative in something together. Humans are meant to be creative. Help each other get creative in something. Paint, try new recipes together, start a garden, create a workout plan together. Literally anything stop making excuses lol

8. Say thank you even for the small everyday things. We stil by @kailey_francisco

Save and share with your besties for your next afternoon in Hoboken, NJ ☀️
Start at @hellofromthehive to grab a delicious coffee ( I had the iced vanilla latte it was strong and divine) they also have a little play area for kids in pumped to go back and bring my littles!
Next stop, the waterfront overlooking the Hudson! We could have literally sat there all day. Also perfect with kids because there’s a playground a green area to run around!
By now you’ll be getting hungry so stop by @elysiancafehoboken for the most flavorful sandwiches.

All three stops are in walking distance of each other!
