I made it out before sunset, it felt so good! 💛
Riding without a plan was a perfect relaxation after a busy day at work. Rode some MTB gravel as well (same, same but different line choices) until I was about to head back home.
But when I was about to change the warm gloves to keep myself warm on the way home, I realized I had dropped them! 🙈 Well, that means extra kilometers in the darkness to find them...and finally I saw them lying on the ground, that made my day! 🤩 Oh, it felt so good to put them on and head back home!

A special ride today. I wasn't suffering from a sore ankle anymore so riding was fun. And I was riding with people I used to ride a lot more when I was still racing. With the people who have helped me to achieve my racing dreams.

Today I also got asked if I have been missing racing. A good question...so what do I honestly think and feel about it? 🤔

Well, I do have missed racing sometimes but much more than racing itself, I have missed people and the community. The feeling of riding the best trails with special people who share the same passion. I have missed sharing the stoke and smiles after a great trail or special stage. Clearly, I have missed endorphins and the moments that can be achieved only by challenging yourself.

A bit surprisingly, today also reminded me how broken 💔 I was two years ago. So lost. It's been a long journey since those times and I'm feeling good today. Maybe more about that journey later, let's see...

Feeling very thankful about today's ride that was much more than just a ride for me. Thank You for organizing @huotinen and the whole crew for the ride and talks! 🙏

Riding bikes is good for the soul. 💚

Bikepacking trip around the Savonlinna and Enonkoski area! 🚵🌼Super happy to get a brilliant riding company as @repoanni joined me for testing a bikepacking tour plan during the weekend🙏 We explored some extra and enjoyed Finnish summer by Saimaa for 285 km, good times! 👌

What a day! 🌞🚴😄 A perfect weather window to ride Pihlajavesi ice route by bike today! Beautiful scenery, cute islands and one ferry. So peaceful 🩵
❄️❄️Please note, that the ice conditions change very quickly this time of the year and that one goes to the frozen lake ice at his/her own risk. ❄️❄️

I found happiness today! 🤩Pihlajaniemi winter trails in Savonlinna were in mint condition today (at least for fatbike)! 😄🤙 Crazy how good it feels to be able to lean with the bike just a bit since long time ago and find some rhythm for riding!!
I'm totally convinced again that mountain biking means happiness and everybody should do some mtb and the world would be a better place! ❤️
Super thankful for volunteers at @olavinretkeilijatmtb and @olavinretkeilijat who maintain these trails. Happy to put the voluntary payment for them 👍

Is it time to say goodbye? Farewell for racing enduro? I think it's time to celebrate! 🥳

I started racing MTB enduro in Finland 25 years ago so - quite a journey! The photo is taken from the middle of my career in 2012 😄❤️
Of course there's been a couple of seasons when I couldn't race due to pregnancy but yes, I have completed, won and enjoyed a notable amount of races in Finland and some international races, too.

Those races and travels have taught me a lot about myself, my strengths and weaknesses, about other people and bikes. I have met new friends, seen new places and tracks and learned so much over the years!

I was considering even racing a whole season '25 and celebrating it but instead of that I will be working a lot the whole summer (which is good in a way), riding bikes mostly locally and spending time with my family when not working.

However I feel that my 25-year racing career deserves to be celebrated! So I will figure it out soon and invite all Enduro minded people to join me! Stay tuned 😍

The Finnish enduro series @royalendurofin
starts tomorrow in Messilä so I wish lots of speed and great enduro spirit for all riders there!!! 🔥🔥🔥I'm part of the spirit in between work shifts 😊.

Ps. I don't know who has taken the photo I found from the archive, it's from the enduro race in @laajavuoribikepark in 2012 so let me know if it was you ❤️

EDIT: I'm NOT saying I will never race again as some might have understood. But I'm not chasing overall title or prioritizing racing similarly anymore. I might show up to some occasional events if I feel so and have resources to do it ❤️

Finale Ligure Italia 🇮🇹 earlier this week ❤️

I didn't realize how much I had been missing big rides until in Italy. Wet conditions didn't bother me, I just kept riding and felt thankful about the possibility for this trip.

Technically far away from a perfect cornering but so what? I love riding bikes 💕

Seuraava Elite Bike yhteislenkki ajetaan perjantaina 9.5. Jyväskylässä!

Lähtö klo 18.15 Elite Bike Jyväskylän edestä (Ahjokatu 22).

Tällä kertaa kyseessä tasoltaan helppo lenkki (taso 2 asteikolla 1-5) sähköavusteisella pyörällä osallistuvalle. Ajetaan latupohjia sekä helppoja polkuja eli lenkki sopii hyvin aloittelijoille ja vähän aikaa lajia harrastaneille.

Lenkin aikana tarjolla myös pyörän säätö- ja varustevinkkejä.
Vapaa pääsy, ei ennakkoilmoittautumisia.
