dear softball, i can’t believe that this career has already come to an end. it’s hard to put into words how much this game has meant to little kaitlin and all the amazing people this sport gave her. thank you for giving me my best friends, letting me travel the country and for putting me through injuries that taught me strength, perseverance and leading me to my dream career. first off, thank you karissa for being my biggest role model on and off the field and leading the way in every way possible. dad, thank you for traveling everywhere with me and for spending hours in the cages for me to be successful. mom, thank you for always having my back through everything and being my listening ear after every bad game. to nana, thank you for always watching me, even if it was from a distance and for always being my biggest cheerleader, always reminding me i was more than the game. to all my coaches, impact, charmers, and ri thunder, thank you for pushing me into the person i am today and for always believing in me when i didn’t believe in myself. to all my teammates, thank you for becoming my second family and putting a smile on my face everytime we stepped onto the field for practice or a game. to my little self just learning to pick up a ball and hold a bat, while our career didn’t go how we pictured, we persevered, made people proud, made you proud, and most importantly learned how to make tough decisions and do what’s best for us. this game has taught me more about my self than i would’ve ever imagined, has pushed me to my limits and has been so rewarding and i am forever grateful for everything this small yellow ball has given me the last 11 years. 🤍 #endofanera by @kaitlin.spring_
