We enjoyed having Gigi and Boggie come visit last weekend! The kids had a blast, and Boggie even got to help at one of Sammy's baseball games. Their favorite parts? Walks together and having a guest space so they could capitalize on more time! by @kaitlinfron

While it's not completely finished yet, I had to share some of Sam's work on the basement/guest space (pictures of the other half of the basement will come when it is finished. When we moved in, there was a beautiful wall mural, but cement flooring. The bathroom was all brown (well done, just not what we wanted). Sam installed a Murphy bed for when we have visitors, and it looks like a cabinet/desk for every day use like the kids' playdates or teaching. He refinished the walls and built in the ledge, but we kept one of the original wood panel walls as a nod to the original owners. The New Orleans painting was my grandfather's. It's #orangeshirtday / #nationaldayoftruthandreconciliation . With all the #cornell 7 discussion this week, there are plenty of connections between the violence of forced assimilation and the violence of assault. I could write about it, but Seamus Heaney has already done so. Please give his poem "The Ocean's Love to Ireland" a few minutes of time and reflection today.

Spent the start of Year 12 setting up for Halloween with the kids, then with family dinner. It was a beautiful anniversary day, and we can't wait to share pictures of this year's setup once it is finished (need to add some lighting and spiders). As always, I'm lucky to be creating a life with Sam. by @kaitlinfron

Picture Day outfit! The most Lily outfit she could have chosen, complete with a dragon necklace.

Poor Sammy will have to do Makeup Day and is heading to the dentist instead to evaluate the extent of injury from getting hit in the face by a baseball at his game. Keep him in your thoughts! by @kaitlinfron

Lily had a little tea party with a few friends before the family dinner, and she had so much fun. Her cake request? Olaf in the woods, specifically when he says "Anna? Elsa? Sven? Samantha? I don't even know a Samantha." Basic vanilla with chocolate frosting. by @kaitlinfron
