Grilling is one of my favorite ways to cook, while wood fire and charcoal grilling is preferred, if there is any chance to use this method of cooking I will. One of the most primitive forms of cooking, carried into the modern world with the convenience of gas and the ability to share cultures and flavors with the Internet and modern travel.

I love being able to bring a dish from my small town of Ithaca, NY to share with my clients in Houston; a melting pot in its own right. There is beauty in food, and Houston is a city that celebrates it

Behind every dish is a craft that has been refined for over 15 years. My first job was in a kitchen and I fell in love with the rush. It’s hard to describe the feeling you get when you’re in the zone and everything falls into place. Life becomes a blur around you. 32, not really much of a milestone year but for many reasons it was one of my favorite birthday celebrations of my adult life. Thank you to everyone who came to celebrate my birthday with me at any point this weekend. Thank you @stevobabe09 for organizing so much of this weekend and making sure that I was surrounded by the people I love and care for. Plenty of memories made that the pictures won’t do it justice, but the weekend was filled with lots of laughs, good food, and even greater friends.

20 years ago during the 2006 World Cup I made myself a promise that I would go to a World Cup match. Ever since that summer, I fell in love with the sport. I played periodically throughout my life ever since but cooking was my calling. Now 20 years later I get to make my difference on the pitch by feeding players off the pitch.

Being able to attend Germany’s match today was a memorable experience that I will never forget. Today I saw the beauty that football brings around the world. ~5% of Curaçao’s population was at this match and they made themselves known. Against a football giant, the players and fans of Curaçao held their head high and celebrated the impact they made for their own country. The first ever World Cup goal for Curaçao! Even after the match supporters of both nations rallied together and celebrated. Sharing their experiences getting to the match, their love for football, and how much this match meant for everyone.

This is the game I love, the game that inspires me, and motivates me to keep doing what I love. Passion flowed through the stadium today and I will fondly remember today as a day that both sides won in their own way. Wishing all the best for Curaçao during this tournament and absolutely thrilled for Germany’s start in this tournament! @dfb_team @thebluewaveffk

What a month! June was good to me and my loved ones. Between @stevobabe09 and @iamcoachcatt graduating their business class, the @fifaworldcup match between @dfb_team and @thebluewaveffk with @riyad.1789, @natagram92 graduating residency and a surprise visit from him and my cousin @brivansoest, and the constant love and support from my clients; you all made this month so special. Thank you for continuing to be a part of it! 🙌🏼❤️

May was a great month, a time to reflect and get ready for the weeks to come. Being featured in @voyagehouston was a truly amazing experience that will certainly be a landmark in my career. Testing out some new recipes to implement into my meal plans and trying a slightly different approach to offer a little more variety in the coming weeks!

A little update; I’m getting more time and traction with my meal prep and loving every step of it planning menus, cooking, and meeting new people. Getting connected with the players and getting more involved in the world’s game has me looking forward to the World Cup this year! I think this year has been and will be pivotal for the football in the US. Really looking forward to what the remainder of this year will bring my clients as well as the business while exploring recipes from different parts of the world. Having players and tourists coming to Houston for the World Cup is going to be inspirational. Feeling incredibly grateful for everything that’s come my way this past year and the unforgettable experiences, exciting opportunities, and big plans ahead! Having a partner who supports both me and all of my passions, well that’s something quite special ❤️

My first year as a @houstondynamo member has been such a lovely time. I’ve been spending this year sharing my love of food and football, cooking for friends, trying new recipes, and discovering amazing spots around the city. @loroeats is still my favorite hangout spot

I recently moved (just a few floors up), and I have a better kitchen space that I’m excited to share with you guys. Cooking streams will be back soon once I sort through some logistical chaos, but I’ll be posting a bit more regularly as I’m settling in.
