Farewell and RIP, David Hockney.
It was an honor to be a nearby neighbor in Nichols Canyon all these years. The parties at your home or the events I catered in your honor, around town where you always were the center of the universe ( at least that’s what it felt like) I hope you get reunited with all those friends who have left us years ago, as well as several wiener dogs who I am sure are waiting anxiously. May the other side be as colorful as you portrayed this side. I know how much you loved Baden-Baden. The pools, the springs and the pampering. It’s amazing how far technology has advanced, even in just the last five to ten years. I thought the recovery from my first hip replacement in 2020 was impressively fast, but compared to the hip replacement I had just 10 days ago, it feels like a completely different experience. I’m already driving, which is truly mind-blowing to me. I’m incredibly excited and grateful for how quickly I’ve been recovering from such a major surgery.

To anyone debating whether to have hip replacement surgery: don’t wait too long. Chances are, once it’s behind you, you’ll find yourself saying, “I wish I had done it much sooner.” ….and btw. I was absolutely blown away by all the caring messages and well wishes I received. I don’t think I have ever gotten to 6K views for anything I ever posted. Thank you! 😍 by @kaiwloebach

I just received my second hip replacement in six years, and once again I am overwhelmed with gratitude. Dr. Erik Zeegen at UCLA Health Santa Monica is truly a superstar surgeon — exceptionally skilled, compassionate, reassuring, and surrounded by an extraordinary support team that made the entire experience feel seamless and deeply caring from beginning to end.

There is something profoundly humbling about placing your trust in the hands of people who dedicate their lives to helping others heal and regain their quality of life. I feel incredibly fortunate to have been cared for by such remarkable professionals.

And now, the next chapter begins: recovery.
One step in front of the other. Slowly, patiently, and with determination. Every small movement forward is progress, every day a little stronger, and every challenge another reminder to appreciate the gift of mobility and health.
