Restoration is as much about adaptability as it is about aesthetic. When restoring an older home like this Grandview Heights beauty, our goal is always to honor the original craftsmanship while adapting it for modern life. But real-life renovation means navigating real-life compromises! Swipe through & keep reading to see how this story unfolded: The Exterior | We initially explored replicating the home’s original architectural details of the eaves onto the new addition. However, once demo began, unexpected structural surprises surfaced (as they often do!). Design is a collaborative journey & we choose to reallocate the budget where it mattered most while keeping the overall profile clean and intentional. The Fireplace | Take a close-up look at the hearth! The original handmade tiles had cracked beyond repair over time. To maintain that soul and character, we partnered with the experts at @hamiltonparkerco to source new custom, handmade tiles that mirror the tone, texture, and artisan charm of the originals. Big thanks to our talented build partners and wonderful clients for navigating every step with us! 📸 Tap through to see the exterior & fireplace details. #ColumbusInteriorDesigner #GrandviewHeights #OldHomeLove #DesignDetails #ColumbusOhioDesigner taken in Grandview Heights, Ohio by @kaizenhomeimprovements

Hard to believe this home was built in the early 1800’s. Needless to say, we love how this primary bath turned out 👌 by @kaizenhomeimprovements
