This is a brand new fabric from Raspberry Creek, and it’s a gorgeous lightweight flannel shirting. There are loads of plaid prints, and I was happy to try out this classic cream and black gingham.  This flannel would make a great button down, but I could tell immediately this would gather super nicely, so I switched to a peplum blouse with bishop sleeves from Love Notions. Obviously the correct choice. 😁 The texture is really soft and has a surprising amount of drape and movement for a flannel. It’s so cute!! Stayed tuned, I have plans to use more flannel as a lining on an upcoming project… @raspberrycreekfabrics Plaid Flannel Shirting in Black and Cream Small Buffalo Check @LoveNotions Timbre Peasant Top ✨Inspired? Supreme bonus piece! This is what you get when you can’t stand to cut huge strips of bias tape down your whole piece of silk. 👀 I tried, I really did, but I could not do it. I cut a bunch of little strips and stitched them together instead to finish my tank’s edges, and then made a whole extra top!  @minervadotcom Core Range 100% Silk Shirting in Sky Blue @fabricsstorecom Agustina Boxy Top @chalkandnotch Reya Pants circa 2024, still going strong 🩵 #minervabrandambassador #minervamaker #sewnwithsilk #mymakesnov26 #agustinatop @sewmuchtodesign by @kak513
All this collage is missing is the hooded Death poncho I cranked out quickly for a kid who changed his costume idea late in the game. 😂 What a pretty collection of clothes, if I do say. I really enjoy this hobby. 💞 #mymakesoct26 @sewmuchtodesign #isewmyownclothes #memadeeveryday #sewallthethings by @kak513
Would you even believe I’ve never sewn the short sleeved tee version of this pattern?! I used my remaining 2x1 rib from Raspberry Creek to rectify this situation immediately. I LOVE how the rib lines look in the shoulder design here. Another excellent basic for my closet!  @lovenotions Rockford Raglan  @raspberrycreekfabrics Warm Mauve 2x1 Rib  #raspberrycreekfabrics #sewnwithrib #lnrockford #ribknitttee #mymakesoct26 @sewmuchtodesign by @kak513
Silk! So fancy and a little nerve-wracking to work with, no? Rather than sew some type of lovely gown I’d rarely wear, I took a good gander through my closet and chose something that I love and have worn loads of time AND enjoy how it can be worn with nearly anything paired at the bottom and also easily layered. I had actually just worn the tank I have and was thinking about how perfect an apparel piece it is. I lengthened a Third Born Sun Day Tank and it’s wardrobe perfection. Wearing this fabulous top is going to bring me joy every single time. 🩵 @minervadotcom Core Range 100% Silk Shirting in Sky Blue @ThirdBornClothing Sun Day Tank #minervabrandambassador #silktank #sewnwithsilk #thirdbornsundaytank #mymakesoct26 @sewmuchtodesign by @kak513
I need some elevated basics because my closet is very very full of amazing prints, but it’s a little harder to get motivated for solids sometimes. I’m always so satisfied with the outcome, though, so I just need to focus on the end goal.  Another brand new base is available from Raspberry Creek! The poly cotton 2x1 rib is a pretty hefty weight, and excellent for both the main fabric or used for bands and cuffs.  A fitted long sleeved tee feels pretty darn luxurious in this weight. I know this top will feel so comfortable and high-end to wear when the weather begins cooling, which will be any minute now, right? 🤞 @chalkandnotch Tess Top  @raspberrycreekfabrics Mauve 2x1 Rib (plus the Abstract Painterly rayon challis for my skirt!) #raspberrycreekfabrics #sewnwithrib #cntess #ribknitttee #mymakesoct26 @sewmuchtodesign by @kak513
Okay, since I skipped a tier on my last dress in this fabric, I got a fabulous bonus top out of it! Honestly, I’m really excited to have another piece in this beautiful print and just adore the taupe color. @minervadotcom Exclusive Hidden Life Aloe Vera Plant Dobby Fabric @TheAssemblyLineShop Pyjama Set Top #minervabrandambassador #theassemblyline #mymakesoct26  #isewmyownclothes #talpyjamas @sewmuchtodesign by @kak513
This print is so pretty and graphic! I really wanted to make one of the twist wrap sweaters I’ve seen and I wanted to ensure I had a good all-over and non-directional print for the job, so it took a little hunting. Herbal Harmonics was just right!   Loved the visual online help that Style Arc added for the twist of this sweater, mine turned out great on the first try. 💚 @minervadotcom Herbal Harmonics Recycled Fine Sweater Knit in Sage @StyleArc Kira Knit Top  #minervabrandambassador #sakiraknittop #mymakesoct26 #minervamaker @sewmuchtodesign by @kak513
It’s still rather warm, so I’m staying on my summer theme with a denim tank and skirt, and I think I’ve absolutely peaked. Contrast topstitching, perfect length, and a fabulous light shade of denim. This denim is a lighter weight at 8oz and thus is way less stiff and has a lot more flexibility than one more infused with tons of dye or a heavier weight. I’d compare it to a heavy linen in how it feels and sews, I’m so into it. We’ll call this set my own version of the Texas Tuxedo. 🐧 Raspberry Creek now offers a looot of fabulous denims, and there are two other shades in this exact weight and style. @RaspberryCreekFabrics 8oz Light Indigo Denim @PatternEmporium_Kate Coastal Side Split Skirt (single right split, 1.5” elastic with high rise waist) @Helens__Closet Ashton Tank (View B plus 1”, shortened the facings to sit above the bust darts) #raspberrycreekfabrics #pecoastalsidesplitskirt #matchymatchyoutfit #mymakesoctt26 @sewmuchtodesign by @kak513
I have been creeping this print for soo long, and I finally found the perfect pattern match. 🦢 The soft jersey works just right for a relaxed tee like this, and the sleeve facings offer the most excellent topstitching opportunity! @minervadotcom Exclusive Swimming Swans Cotton Lycra Jersey @sew.lalapatterns Roxie Top  #sewlalaroxie #minervabrandambassador #sewnwithjersey #swans #mymakesoct26 @sewmuchtodesign by @kak513
The big @lovenotions 40% off sale ends tomorrow, October 19th!  I have to call out the Sloane Sweater as an absolute favorite. Definitely a TnT pattern, and I’ve sewn them in so many fabrics.  Use code FALL40 at checkout. #sweaterweather #lovenotions #lnsloane #lovenotionsambassador #sewingforfall by @kak513
A little twist on the Darwen Dress! I remembered that when I was sewing my original Darwen, it looked super cute with just the first tier, so I opted to make a real one. Fabric is a very soft and textured aloe vera dobby, how neat is that? I was really excited to try one of Minerva’s new plant-based bases. It’s very light and cool. Because of the texture, I chose to draft a quick facing for the neckline and I interfaced it to hold it in shape versus using bias tape. I really liked the wide one from my recent gauze top, so I again used a 2.5” wide facing. I just added 3” to the height of Tier 1 and skipped Tier 2. Super easy and this is a perfect dress for the heat, it’s really lightweight and breathable, and that color still makes me think I’m dressing for autumn. 😂 @Minervadotcom with McCalls Darwen Dress pattern and Hidden Life Aloe Vera Plant Dobby Fabric #minervabrandambassador #mymakesoct26 #MinervaWithMcCalls #memadeeverday #mwmdarwendress @sewmuchtodesign by @kak513
