Before the decks, there were drums. 🥁🔥

Long before I started playing electronic music, I spent more than 25 years making music acoustically.

So being invited to play my drum for Burning Man’s Opening Fire Ceremony felt especially like coming home. ☀️🔥

There was something familiar and comforting about standing beside that fire with a drum in my hands.
Before I was a DJ, I was a drummer.

Apparently, I still am. ❤️‍🔥

AXIS MUNDI 🌅🪩

7am on the playa. The sun was coming up, the dance floor was lit by the dawn, and I finally got to play this journey where I imagined it belonging. ✨

Deep house at sunrise with @TheSoundGarden. 🔊☀️
One of those oh… THIS is SO why I started doing this - moments.

Thank you @TheSoundGarden for creating such a beautiful space for music, movement, and connection, and thank you @BurningMan for the dust, the magic, and the extraordinary playground where all of it could unfold. ❤️‍🔥 )’(

Consider this your invitation to turn it up. ✨

AXIS MUNDI has been out in the world for a week, and I’ve loved watching it find its way into your speakers, cars, workouts, and dance floors.

If you’re heading into the weekend looking for something with a little heat—this one’s for you. 🔥

Thank you for listening, dancing, sharing, and cheering me on. I’m having so much fun building this little world called KakeWalk.

Many journeys, one dance floor. 🖤

I’ve been saving this footage for just the right moment. 🌅✨

My favorite part of Burning Man this year was leading Opening Ceremony at The Sound Garden. 💛

I prerecorded my DJ set so I could play live didgeridoo and drums over it, while leading yoga, breathwork, and meditation.

The intention was simple: to create a space where all bodies could arrive on the playa, settle into themselves, and begin Burn Week with intention.

Music, movement, breath, and community. Some of my favorite things, all coming together in one beautiful morning. 🥁🧘‍♀️❤️‍🔥

Thank you @TheSoundGarden and @mama_dusol for making space for this offering. Thank you @markduncan.507 for your hard work and dedication. Thank you @taylormadeaudio for running sound. Love you guys ❤️❤️❤️

Many journeys, one dance floor. ✨

AXIS MUNDI 🌅🪩

Burning Man requires a certain kind of resilience. You get tired. You get dusty. Things don’t go according to plan.

Somehow, you keep finding your way back to what makes you feel alive. For me, one of those things is music and dance. 💛

I played this set at dawn, as the sun was coming up and warmth was spreading across the desert.

These moments let you know you’re doing something right ✨ Not everything has to be perfect for it to feel very, very right.

A little more from my set, AXIS MUNDI, at @TheSoundGarden at @BurningMan.

Many journeys, one dance floor.

🔥✨ BURNING MAN 2026 ✨🔥

I’m stoked to be back in Black Rock City, and this year bringing music to The Sound Garden at 2 & E, for two very different mornings on playa:

🌅 SUNDAY • AUG 30 • 9:00–10:30 AM
✨ OPENING CEREMONY
We’ll arrive. We’ll breathe. We’ll ground into the dust. Organic house, live instrumental accompaniment, meditation, gentle movement + intention as we begin Burn week together. Bring a yoga mat and come exactly as you are. 🧘‍♀️🥁🌞💫

🌄 WEDNESDAY • SEP 2 • 7:00–8:30 AM
🔥 DEEP HOUSE
Come find me in that strange, beautiful hour when the night people meet the morning people and the playa starts glowing again. 🪩🕺✨🌅

I’ve been imagining these mornings for months, and now they’re almost here. If you’re also heading Home, come find me in the dust. 🥹🔥

Many journeys, one dance floor. ✨

First time playing AXIS MUNDI live. ✨

Watching the room begin to move with a journey I built at home was a little surreal. And so, so much fun.

This is what I love about music. The moment it stops being mine and becomes something we’re experiencing together.

Thanks to everyone who danced with me. 🖤

New KakeWalk set: AXIS MUNDI. 🎧

I just finished this 90-minute journey, and I’m so fucking happy with how it came together.

Somewhere during the final listen, I stopped evaluating transitions, stopped listening for what I could improve, and just started dancing.

That’s when I knew it was ready.

AXIS MUNDI is a journey into connection through deep grooves, organic textures, indie dance, and globally influenced house.

Built to gather energy, inspire connection, and turn strangers into community.

It’s live now on SoundCloud. Link in bio.

Soon I’ll share where this journey is headed next. ✨

Some people think a DJ's work begins when they step behind the decks.

Mine begins long before that.

The mixing happens on the decks. The curation happens everywhere else.

In airplanes.
Walking unfamiliar streets.
At house parties.
On dance floors.
Over coffee with friends.

Every place leaves behind a rhythm.
Every conversation leaves behind a thread.

Eventually enough threads begin weaving themselves into a journey.

✨ Many journeys. One dance floor.

📍Bass Coast

Somewhere along the way, these festivals stopped feeling like events and started feeling like reunions.

The music brings us together.

The friendships keep us coming back.

Every dance floor has introduced me to people who have changed my life in ways I never could have planned.

That's probably why community sits at the center of everything I want to create behind the decks.

Before I ever stood behind the decks, I learned to listen.

I still believe the best DJs spend as much time on the dance floor as they do behind the booth.

Every festival, every conversation, and every unexpected song becomes part of the next journey.

When I get quiet and really listen, my mind begins weaving musical threads into journeys not yet heard.

Many journeys. One dance floor.
