On June 22nd, I had the pleasure of making my Green Room 42 debut in At This Performance, produced by @stephendeangelis The evening celebrated understudies by giving us the opportunity to sing a song from our musical and a song we simply love. My most recent musical was the hit @bigfootthemusical ! I sang Maybe, lyrics by Amber Ruffin and music by David Schmoll. ❤️My second song was “Your Daddy’s Son.” I’ve been working on this song for years, and it’s been so special to see how much I’ve grown.My former classmate that I mentioned is @iamericapatterson . Your voice inspired me long before this performance, back at TSU, and it was a gift to watch you shine.A special thank you to my girl @theravenchareal , who’s just as talented with makeup as she is onstage. I couldn’t book with her, so she gave me FaceTime tutorial for this stunning look!Thank you @treston.henderson and Raven for coming to support, Stephen for creating such a beautiful space for artists to simply walk in their light, @jonbalcourt for your wonderful accompaniment, @thesherbear for the incredible sound, and the Green Room 42 production team and staff. To everyone I shared the stage with—I left a fan. You were all incredible.And finally, thank you to the many Sarahs who have carried this song with such richness, vulnerability, and truth.💐 Audra McDonald, Nichelle Lewis, Kayla Pecchioni, Ta’Nika Gibson, Erica Patterson, and so many more.I think this song means something to a lot of Black girls and women. ❤️ by @kalaross

Today’s the day — the Welcome to New York pilot is officially out! 🥹 I’m so happy and grateful to finally share this with all of you. I didn’t do this alone. With the incredible creativity, generosity, and belief of every single person involved, we created something truly special. Thank you for volunteering your time, your talent, and your hearts. I love this musical and the experience that I’m having in this creative process. You can see the joy smeared all of over my face 😂. When I saw the first picture, I really said wow 🥹 I’m so grateful.
