I am STILL feelings so overcome with so much love🤍 this was such a special night, thank you to everyone who came together to make it happen it truly means the world to me.

for as long as I can remember, my BIGGEST fear was clowns… well right after growing older. so my birthday has always held a certain heaviness. the scorpio moon, leo rising in me has always loved and cherished the idea of a day revolving around me, but that virgo moon has always struggled with the control slipping through my fingers. another year behind me, a higher age to say out loud when people ask how old I am. I was terrified of abandoning my innocence and losing myself to the big bad world. and aging is something we have no control over, and that’s always been a punch in the gut to me. but I stand here, 26, dressed as a clown, surrounded by my loved ones doing the same, holding 16 year old me’s hand standing in her worst nightmare, and showing her how okay it all is. clowns aren’t as big and scary as they once seemed, in fact we find much solace within them. and each year, when the number I have to share with a stranger gets even higher, I feel closer to the girl who cried on her 6th birthday because “she didn’t wanna get bigger”. I feel closer to the girl who cried on her 13th birthday, even though I was surrounded by people who loved me. I feel closer to the girl who cried on her 18th birthday because she didn’t see herself making it to that one, or any one past it. i’m so lucky to have come out on the other side and to see how blessed I am to be aging into everything 6,13, even 18 year old me dreamed of, and more. everything I do is for them. and i’m so so proud of them. taken in Sound Bar by @kale.iope
