On May 12th, I boarded a one-way flight to Thailand — quitting my job, selling most of what I owned, and leaving Australia behind to chase something I’ve always wanted: indefinite travel.
⁠
There were a lot of unknowns. A lot of risk. But 7 weeks in, I already know it’s the best decision I’ve ever made.
⁠
Since arriving, I’ve been hopping around the Gulf of Thailand — doing all sorts of things and meeting the kind of people your parents warned you about… and then somehow becoming one of them.
⁠
I spent 6 wild weeks volunteering at a hostel on Koh Tao that instantly felt like home. Days were filled with mispronounced names, dodging stray cats, running chaotic pub quizzes, dishing out espresso martinis, and breaking up shifts one cig at a time.

I became an advanced scuba diver and loved every second of it. At least I can say the last 7 weeks I haven’t done absolutely nothing of note. Cannot wait to do an awful lot more.

Koh Tao is one of those places that’s damn hard to leave… but pretty amazing to have to come back to whenever I need a breath of fresh air.

Backpack’s back on. WiFi’s spotty. Let’s keep this thing moving.

Siargao has to be one of the most insane places I’ve ever been. Once you’ve been you never want to leave, but if you don’t leave you eventually won’t make it out in one piece. I’ve been lucky enough to meet the best people, have done the coolest shit and seen just about everything this island has to offer, but I’ll be back 🏝️ taken in Siargao Island, Philippines by @kalin_long
