We made the hardest record in the city last night 🤯

The beauty of music is in the creative process. When I step in the studio with @briangigerich I have an idea or even a demo track already recorded but what comes out on the other end of the session is always 10x what I expected.

This time he had a last minute opening on same day notice and I had other songs ready but wanted to come with something new.

My right hand man @izzyo00 pulled up and started making slaps on the spot. We walked out with TWO hits!!!

Music is like an expensive gambling habit, you invest a lot hoping to find that magical moment when the right beat, lyrics and performance align to give you something undeniable.

Last night, it happened.

Thank you to all involved!

Peak human experience.

Earned another stripe today. Still falling deeper in love with the art and camaraderie of jiu jitsu.

Many thanks to all my training partners who push me to be my very best each and every round.

Huge thanks to my coach @mintberiecrunch who has honored me with the responsibility of helping guide our youth program.

Teaching has improved not only my skills on the mat, but in navigating life as well.

Who remembers when hip hop wasnt really allowed in Phoenix? The authorities often showed up to events based on assumptions, and how some of the local rap crews were moving at the time. The motion was real.

Shout to my bro @kaliq777 our conversations are always A1. More to come..... #heavyduty

Balancing provision with nurturing can be difficult in today’s hustle culture, but as parents just have to keep showing up and doing the best we can. Our children won’t forget it.

Just another day @azcombatsports , trying to balance my schedule as a coach and single dad. The two day jobs plus coaching privates has taken a toll on my own training schedule but I’m grabbing a little mat time as much as I can.

Also trying to make sure I’m spending more intentional time with my daughter so she doesn’t feel like a passenger along on my daily grind.

I appreciate my coaches and training partners at Arizona Combat Sports for maintaining a positive environment/outlet!

I know it’s been a minute but when I lock in, I get one track minded. It’s an aspect of my personality that I’m really trying to improve on. The benefit is I get things done at a high level rather quickly. The con is, other things in my life tend to slip while I’m competing a task or project.

I’ve been so zoned out on creating this album that I forget to post updates.

Social media has always been my weak spot, so I’m holding myself accountable to create content and share the journey.

Always remember, show up, show out, do the work. ✅ taken in HKStudios by @kaliq777
