Pacific Heights,
San Francisco

Our co-founder Abby in pattern, set against the stark black and white of the stair. The Sigmar Polke painting also offsets this otherwise austere space. The painting takes the mechanical dot of commercial printing and renders it by hand: a regular rhythm, deliberately imperfect. The space works the same way. The linear iron balustrade and the rough iron circles of the BBPR fixture overhead are spare and industrial, but not machine made… elemental rather than overly refined.

The three-spoke handle of the Gio Ponti faucet became the starting point for this entire powder room. Its form recurs throughout: in the custom mirror, the stone sink, even the waste bins, one in brass and one in stainless steel. We often find a single shape that becomes a motif across a project; here, it came to govern the design of the room. It also shaped the stone column of the sink, a form that proved as practical as it is sculptural. The mirror has candle holders built in, so the room can be lit by candlelight alone. We love a dark room. Deep color draws the walls in and makes a space feel enclosed and intimate, which is what we want from a living room particularly as fall and winter approach.
Abby’s living room is a sea of deep army green textiles and charcoal grey Roman clay walls. The sofas came first: B&B Italia Charles, a gift from her dad when she was engaged and setting up her first home. Now reupholstered in army green mohair, they anchor twenty years of collecting: an Angelo Lelii ceiling lamp, a Gabriella Crespi coffee table, Marco Zanuso chairs, a vintage rosewood bar, Richard Prince artwork on the wall and a deep pile wild silk rug covering most of the blackened wood floor.

Embassy House,
Buenos Aires

In this former embassy residence in Buenos Aires, we transformed what was once an open, catering-style kitchen into two cozier, more functional rooms for cooking and family dining. We collaborated with @molteniandc on the kitchen cabinetry and a custom table, pairing their pale blue-grey lacquer with warm oak.

Embassy House,
Buenos Aires

At the entrance door to this former embassy residence in Buenos Aires, we created an intimate moment by adding a shaped window that took its shape from the motifs of the original balcony metalwork.

Chelsea London

Pink is a theme in this recently completed house in London. Here, an almost candy pink tone wraps the walls, tile floors, and fabrics of a guest bedroom — but terracotta and wood keep it from tipping into sugary. The result is pink with some backbone.

Cheslea Garden House,
London

There was a lot of excavation in this recently completed London project, including for this basement level lounge. Deeply recessed seating makes a built-in cocoon in the room. Burgundy gives the space its warmth. Daylight, drawn from above, keeps it from feeling like a basement.

Chelsea Garden House,

Everyone talks about blurring the line between inside and outside. But for us, it's not just about large openings or seamless thresholds—it's about allowing the landscape to become part of the architecture. Seeing the planting settle in and gradually envelop our recently completed townhouse project has been such a pleasure to watch.
