Breaking up the Silent Hill stuff with art in honor of Miku’s upcoming anniversary of her release, except she’s a bard and is also part dragon… I also added a couple behind the scenes slides at the end for fun!

Full ver. of the illustration!! I’m gonna be doing Rin and Len in a separate piece as well. (If there’s any other Vocaloid someone wants me to do let me know, I’ll do my best.)

While sketching out thumbnails from scratch I quickly realized that this wasn’t going anywhere unless I designed what she was gonna really look like in the final piece. This is what I settled on after messing around with it a bit!

This is what my final thumbnail ended up looking like, I decided to do a value pass on it too and actually painted with it and tried to add color to it before painting on top. (Going from grayscale to color was hellish and I likely will not be doing this again, especially since my values ended up changing pretty drastically anyway. But it was worth a try and it gave me a good idea where to start!!) by @kalouriis

I really like Maria’s face in this…also YAY for more ethereal color schemes!! I feel like her character fascinates me so much because in a way she’s James’s (and in some sense Mary’s) mish mash of characteristics as to what Mary was like before.

I tried to do floor tiles but maybe I will give it a bit more love later on. by @kalouriis

He was a bit too comfortable with putting his hands into some of the grossest stuff… Good for him!

Top down is such a difficult angle to draw a person in but it’s worth it when you manage to do it (kind of). Might break the SH2 roll with some original stuff soon but know that progress is going smoothly on this little fan project!! by @kalouriis

Won’t you kiss me one more time?

I always love an examination of potential dynamics outside of a story and exploring what characters could be like before all of it went down, with James and Mary’s relationship being a bit of a hyperfixation to me right now…
