So, this past spring I was given a great and exciting opportunity to help me inch closer to my career in training athletes. Early this past winter I was notified of an internship position for Sports Performance at the University of Colorado Boulder for the spring to work with the different CU sports teams. Now as an undergrad at the University of Wyoming, I also did a similar internship during my senior year in college but working with CU was an opportunity to work with a college team that competes in a Power 5 conference in the Pac 12. It was an opportunity that I couldn't pass up, so I applied for the position. Several weeks later after several interviews, I was emailed by the Director of Sports Performance at CU notifying me that I was given the position of a Sports Performance Coach Intern for the spring. This for the past 18 weeks, I was able to work with some of the top strength coaches in the Pac 12 to learn how to train athletes at the highest level for different sports. I was able to coach several different teams, such as the soccer, football, track, volleyball, swimming, dance team, cheerleading, golf, and diving. I was given the chance to run the athletes through several warmups, drills in agility and conditioning, and coach strength training sessions for each team. The experience working with these teams was truly amazing and watching all the different ways to train athletes for different sports, and exercises they had to go through in general taught me a lot on how specific teams, and positions train and it was a great opportunity for me to help my business as a Personal Trainer. Also just enjoying the beautiful views in Boulder and being able to use the fancy facilities was truly a awesome, Boulder is know for a lot of bad, but the views make up for that as the views at CU are truly majestic . The coaches were awesome to work with, they certainly like me for my hatred for the CSU Rams, they were great in working with me in helping me improve on my weaknesses as a coach with cuing the complex Olympic and Power Lifts. I couldn’t have asked for better support from the athletes and strength coaches at CU . So as of this morning, today was my final day by @kamduncan
