To my bobohead,

I don’t know how to live a life without you. Nothing about your absence feels real or normal and it never will. Part of me still expects to see your name pop up on my phone or roll over across the street in my pajamas to sit with you on the couch.

Daddy’s little girl could not have been more true for us. Your smile and laugh could instantly make my day, and somehow, even on your hardest days, you still gave that to me.

Years ago, you took me in full-time. A teenage girl trying to figure herself out and like everything else you did in life, you knocked it out of the park. You became everything I needed you to be. A father who made me feel safe, a mentor who guided me, and a best friend who was always there. You were my constant when everything else wasn’t.

Some of my favorite memories will be our long balcony conversations on summer nights. You would open up and tell me stories about your life, the lessons you learned, and the experiences that shaped you. Honest and real…and curious about the world! Traditional in so many ways, but also so open-minded and hungry to understand things on a deeper level.

You were also the only person who took interest in every single one of my dreams and ideas. No matter how big or small, your eyes would light up with excitement and you’d let me ramble for hours, joking about how much I talked your ear off but still you’d listen to every word. You always encouraged me to reach for the stars. I’ll forever call you my philosopher because the way you thought and spoke, not even top scholars could do.

These past few days showed me just how deeply you impacted people. Just beautiful. Overwhelming. I didn’t know it was possible but it made me even prouder to be your daughter.

I’ll never fully be able to put into words who you were. All I know is that you will forever be my favorite person and that everything I do moving forward will be with your voice and guidance in mind.

Daddy, you were and always will be my hero. I’m so proud to carry your eyes, because when people look at me, they’ll remember you. And for the rest of my life when I wake up and look into the mirror, I’m lucky to see you in the reflection. by @kamikaay

Come along with us to spend the day in Ottawa! This was a much needed girls day. I feel so blessed to have connected with such kind souls through the journey of social media.❣️

Our morning started off with a little sweet treat of course. I had been dying to try the little amaretti cookies from @patisseriesanmarco ✨ Once we arrived in Ottawa, we made our first stop for coffee @casa_bonita_coffee_and_bakery to try their assortment of signature drinks; Matcha Pistachio Latte, Fresh Grapefruit Tea, and Raspberry Ice Latte. What stole the show for me was their mochi donuts! Get it with icing! We then spent our afternoon driving through Little Italy, visiting @bobinobagel and did some shopping at @homesense 🛍️

Lunch break was at the DELICIOUS @sisenorottawa served by none other than Hugo himself. 🌮 More shopping later in the afternoon at @cfrideaucentre for @anthropologiehome 🏡

Last stops of the day were @smashdaddy613 and @wholefoodscanada
