Last night, we had to say goodbye to our beloved Mackenzie. She was 13. Mackenzie was the goodest and sweetest girl, and the best helper you could hope for. Nikole and I have never known our life together without our sweet girl, so there’s a massive gray void in our hearts now. To those of you who met and spent time with her, giving her love and pets, thank you for being part of her world. Please tell your pets how good they are for us, and give them some extra love and treats for us too. No matter how long we get, it’s never ever enough. by @kamsmith

Started 2025 with a quick tour of a little backcountry zone off the Kan. Quick easy low angle pow, low stress, great snow, amazing scenery. Definitely worth doing again. by @kamsmith

Went on a gravel ride yesterday, well, last night. Something magical about rolling through the farmlands of the Palouse on a bike in the middle of the night. Especially when it’s a friend’s last ride before a big surgical procedure. Stoked to know these people, ride bikes, climb, and ski with them. We have the best friends. My toes are still cold. by @kamsmith

The Second Annual Glizzy Gladiator Gravel Gallivant was a resounding success. The day started off cool, then we got some rain which cleared out before the big gravel section. Eventually it warmed up a bit, and the winds calmed down. Some of the roads we pre-ran got graded and we were off to the races. 10/10 will do again next year. by @kamsmith

After a couple years of good natured harassment for riding a hardtail I finally gave in, sold the ARC, and joined @coltonellingson on the XC dark side. This new @yeticycles ASR is so much more than just an XC race bike, it’s actually fun, even on the descents. @nikolesankarismith and I spent our first weekend as bike patrollers at @smbikepark working the @northamericanendurocup with a whole slew of our friends. Saturday started off snowy and thunderstorms put a damper on the day. Sunday made up for it with hero dirt (if a little frozen in the morning) and lots of fun racing. Can’t wait for next year, and of course more party laps with the buddies! by @kamsmith

10 of us got together, built a small city of campers, tents, and a parachute. Grilled some glizzies, set up the firepits, made a giant batch of mojitos, and raced our hearts out. For 24 hours we kept the bikes moving, always brought each other home, and cheered the next rider out on course. We watched the sun set on one day, and rise again the next. I can’t think of a better way to spend a weekend, nor can I think of better people to spend it with. #24hoursofriverside by @kamsmith

I took a chance a couple months back and got in touch with @folsomskis to replace my daily drivers that are now my rock skis (thanks El Niño). After a nice chat with Christian at Folsom HQ we landed on these: a 179cm pair of Cash 106s. Beefed up in the tips for crud smashing, playful energetic tails for work, maximum weight for stability, and special tail rocker for toboggan pivots. It was really nerve wracking not knowing what would come in the mail a few weeks later, but having tried @gharvardwhite Cashes and my own touring Cash 106s (last slide) I knew that ski could be anything the wizards at Folsom wanted it to be.I knew from the first turns I took on them that this was THE ski for me, exactly what I want for exactly how I ski. They grip on piste and decimate off piste snow. Powerful, and easy going. Perfect. Custom skis are no joke, they’re worth the cash. All of the Glizzy Gladiators in red coats on the same mountain at the same time, a sight to behold, a force to be reckoned with. Getting together at the top of the world for 30 seconds to take a photo in the middle of one of the most interesting days I’ve ever had, made everything better. Getting to see @natalie_sprigg pass her first Senior test helped too. Watching Nikole ski her heart out, the pickle on top of the sandwich. 10/10 weekend. 10000/10 friends. by @kamsmith

Nighttime climb with the crew! We had to take advantage of the mountain being closed after an 8-10" storm. Gorgeous climbing conditions, crystal clear sky, light wind, and cool temps got us to the top. After we transitioned we were treated to the absolute best snow of the year. 10/10, no notes. by @kamsmith
