Halee is headed to 3rd grade, and I still can’t believe 3rd is in Pre-K! 😫 Just a heads up… I put everybody down as an emergency contact. 😂 Y’all know 3rd is my “knuck if you buck” child… my “I’ll knock all this shhhh over” child… MY middle child. 😩 Let us just pray. 🙏🏾 NOW!!! To my son… 18 is unbelievable!!! I think this is the first time I’ve ever struggled to find the words, lol. I’ve always called you my PRIDE AND JOY! You are the calm before the storm. In the craziest situations, you grounded me just by how you reacted. You taught me grace. You taught me patience (IYKYK). When you were younger, I loved watching you play up against tough opponents because I knew you’d always find a way to show up. Even if the result wasn’t a win, you WON. Every school year you proved it ....Student of the Month in elementary, countless Principal’s Awards, A/B Honor Roll year after year, All-Region, Offensive Player of the Game, Defensive Player of the Game, A+ Athlete… we could go on and on. You are a leader on and off the field, the true definition of a STUDENT-athlete. I used to brace myself, wondering, “Okay, what year is going to be the challenging one? When is he going to mess up?” But you showed me that no matter what life throws at you, you’re going to SHINE. Just like in sports, you’re going to SHOW UP. Every....Single....Time.... Now I guess I can breathe a little, lol. You’re 18. We made it through your childhood years, and now you’re about to start a brand-new chapter in life—COLLEGE! And to top it off, you signed your first D1 contract (FULL RIDE)! I hope you know how PROUD I am of you and how much joy you bring to life!! P.S. Always remember: I might fuss from time to time, but I will ALWAYS be here and support you in anything you do.
