VOLKANO🌋🥷 Set off for the summit at 2:30 a.m. and reached the top just after 6:30 a.m.. It was freezing. Strong winds, temperatures below zero, and every step through the loose volcanic ash felt like three steps backwards. Every time I looked up, the summit somehow seemed even further away. After taking it all in, there was only one way down. From Rinjani Base Camp to the gate, dropping over 8,000 ft of elevation, it became a different kind of battle. Loose volcanic ash. Brutal descents. Relentless impact on every stride. A true test of control, endurance and resilience when your legs are screaming for you to stop. I did this on my dad’s birthday. Every step was for him. The mountain doesn’t care how fit you are. It rewards those who refuse to quit.
