KANJIN (kanjin.app): free digital stamp card and back office for small shops. No app for customers. $0, no credit card.
POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
New shop, and the street doesn't know you yet? Start next door.

Walk to every shop within five minutes of yours. Take a small box of what you make, or a card for a free first visit. Say who you are and when you open.

Neighbors send each other customers. The florist gets asked "where is good coffee?" every day. The cafe gets asked "where can I get a quick haircut?"

It costs $10 to $40 for samples. The person next door may become your first regular.

When they walk in, KANJIN's free stamp card gives them a reason to return.

Your POS knows what sold. Does it know who stopped coming?

Keep the POS. It rings up sales, takes cards and closes the day well. Most cafes, restaurants, salons and small shops should not switch just to reward regulars.

What stays in the POS: sales, payments, tips, receipts and the end-of-day total.

What a stamp card next to it adds: a phone number for each regular, a visit count, the last visit date, and who said yes to email.

Why the date matters. An example: a regular buys a $5 coffee 8 times a month. At 75% margin, that leaves $360 a year. If five regulars drift away and nobody notices, that is $1,800 a year. Put in your own price and margin.

Before you add any card next to your POS, check three things:
1. No contract.
2. It still works if you change POS next year.
3. You can download the list as a spreadsheet yourself, today.

The honest cost: the stamp is one extra step at the counter, outside the sale.

The free KANJIN stamp card works next to any POS, and one press in Settings downloads your list. Link in bio.

60 reviews at 4.3? You need 17 more at 5 stars to show 4.5. A counter card helps, if it works.

Google shows one decimal. So a salon at 4.3 with 60 reviews needs a true 4.45 to show 4.5. That is 17 new reviews, each at 5 stars. An example; put in your own count.

A QR card by the mirror or the desk is the cheapest way to ask. Four things stop it working:

1. It opens a search page. A link copied from the address bar is often a Google search, and the client has to find you again. Use the link from "Ask for reviews" in your Google Business Profile. It usually starts with g.page.
2. It points at the wrong listing. Scan it with your own phone before you print.
3. It offers something. "10% off for a review" breaks Google's rules, and listings have been removed for it. Ask for an honest review and offer nothing.
4. It sits where nobody looks. Put it where the client sees the finished result: at the mirror, or at the desk as they pay. At a restaurant, on the table with the bill.

A card reaches the clients who notice it. Asking each client in person reaches more. Do both.

Make a free counter card and table tent with the Review QR Code Maker. It checks the link before it draws the code. No account. Link in bio.

Paper cards get washed. Phone numbers stay.

A paper card costs little to print and a lot to lose. When it goes through the wash, the customer starts again, and you never learn who they are. After a year of stamping, a pile of cards is still not a list.

Moving stamps to a phone number takes one afternoon, at a cafe counter or a barber's chair:

1. Print a sign with the rule in one line. "10 visits earns a free coffee." For a barber or a salon, use 5 or 6 visits. Ten haircuts take most people more than a year.
2. Ask for the phone number. It is unique, and people give it faster than they spell a name.
3. Let customers join on their own phone from a code on the sign. The queue keeps moving.
4. Ask "Are you on the card?" once per visit for two weeks. Then the sign does the work.

The free KANJIN stamp card works next to any POS. Link in bio.

Before you pay $588 a year for loyalty, check that the list is yours.

Square includes loyalty in Square Plus, at $49 per location a month. That is $588 a year. (Square's own pricing page, read 22 Sep 2026.)

First, the ownership check. It takes five minutes and works for any tool:
1. Download your customer list as a file today. On Square, that is Customers, Customer directory, Import / Export, Export customers.
2. Open it. Are the names, phone numbers and emails there?
3. Ask the tool what else comes out if you leave: stamps, points, visit history.

Then the sum. $588 a year, divided by what one visit leaves you:
- A $5 coffee at 75% margin leaves $3.75. That is 157 extra coffees a year, about 13 a month.
- A $7.50 check at 30% cost of goods leaves $5.25. That is 112 extra visits a year.
- A $30 haircut with $2 of product leaves $28. That is 21 extra haircuts a year.

If you already pay for Plus, keep it. The stamp happens in the sale and texts are included. If you are on Square Free, the full post has another way. Link in bio.

What does one latte cost you to make? Here it is, line by line.

This is an example. The sum is the point, so swap in your own prices.

- Espresso, 18 g at $20 a kilo: $0.36
- Milk, 250 ml at $1.20 a liter: $0.30
- Cup and lid: $0.14
- Sleeve, sugar, napkin: $0.10
- Waste, add 10%: $0.09
- Total: $0.99

At $5.00, that is about 20% food cost. $4.01 is left, but that is before wages, rent and power. What is left after cost of goods and what you keep are two different numbers.

The costs owners forget:
1. Shots poured away while the grinder is set.
2. Milk steamed and not used.
3. Staff drinks.
4. Plant milk, when the extra charge is lower than its extra cost.

One more sum. A free latte on a ten-visit card costs you $0.99, against $50 the customer spent. That is about 2%, much less than the 10% it looks like.

Rain tomorrow? Your regulars decide tonight. Write to them at 6 pm.

The whole email is three lines:
1. The day and the weather. "Rain tomorrow."
2. What is waiting. "The window seats are free, and the soup is on from 11."
3. One thing to try. "Hot chocolate with a free refill, Thursday only."

No discount is needed. A warm seat and one clear reason do the work.

The email only works if you have someone to send it to. That list starts at the counter:
- When a customer gets a stamp, ask once: "Can we email you when it rains, or when something new comes out?"
- Keep only the people who say yes. Write to nobody else.
- Check tomorrow's forecast at the same time every day, for example 4 pm.

If you left Square tomorrow, would your regulars come with you? Four steps to keep your list.

On any Square plan, your customer list comes out as a file. These four steps keep a copy that is yours, and run a stamp card next to Square Free.

1. Export. In Square Dashboard, open Customers, then Customer directory, then Import / Export, then Export customers. You get a CSV file in about 3 minutes. Only emails saved on a customer profile are in it. Receipt-only emails are not.
2. Check, then import. Open the file in a spreadsheet. Find the column with phone numbers and make sure its top cell says "Phone". Import it into the card you choose, and read the preview before you save. Email consent does not travel in a spreadsheet, so every customer starts as "not asked yet".
3. Print the rule. One sign by the register: "10 visits earns a free coffee". Customers join on their own phone, or staff type the number.
4. Write down the day's total. At closing, open Reports, then Sales summary, and copy Net sales. It takes about a minute.

Keep the exported file somewhere you control. That copy is your list, whatever you use next.

These are the steps for the free KANJIN stamp card, which works next to Square. Import is on the paid plan. Full steps at the link in bio.
