POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
Boy, boy, boy! The Bible will not cease to amaze me! 😭❤️
We visited Tamar a couple of weeks ago on The Lives of Biblical Wives (showing on YouTube every Sunday), where we explored her story as fully as we could. It was mind-blowing! You can catch up on Kanma Living on YouTube. Just type Kanma Living in the search bar. You won't have to scroll far to find it.
But today, we're looking at Tamar through a different lens. Her name appears in the genealogy of Jesus in Matthew 1:3, reminding us that God's story of redemption runs through real human lives, complicated circumstances and unexpected people.
Come with me as we trace the Scarlet Thread. 🧵❤️

Sometimes the hardest part of waiting isn't the waiting itself.
It's watching other people get the thing you've been praying for while you're still standing in the same place.
Someone gets married.
Someone gets the job.
Someone's business takes off.
Someone gets the breakthrough you've been asking God for.
And eventually, you start wondering, “God, what about me?”
But here's something worth thinking about:
What if somebody else's timing was never meant to be the timetable for your life?
You can celebrate what God is doing for someone else without turning their testimony into evidence that He has forgotten you.
Your story is not late because somebody else's story moved faster.
❤️
Everything points to Jesus.

There is a particular kind of pain that comes from being hurt by people you thought would protect you 🥺

Joseph knew that pain.

These weren't strangers who wanted him gone. They were his own brothers. They had grown up together. They knew when he was born. They knew that their father loved him deeply. And yet, when Joseph came looking for them, they stripped him of his robe, threw him into a pit, and eventually sold him into slavery.

Imagine being betrayed by the people you share blood with.

Imagine crying out from a pit while the people who put you there are sitting nearby, eating💘

And somehow, that wasn't the end of Joseph's story.

Years later, those same brothers would stand before the brother they had tried to get rid of.

Joseph had every reason to be bitter. But their betrayal did not get to decide the kind of man he would become.

If someone you trusted has wounded you deeply, I hope Joseph's story reminds you of this: what they did to you may be part of your story, but it does not have to become the definition of your life.

And that story eventually points us to Jesus, who was also betrayed by someone close to Him, rejected, falsely accused, and handed over to be crucified.

Betrayal can wound you deeply. But it does not have to have the final word.

Don't let it🤎

I first heard about Nick Vujicic more than ten years ago, and even after all these years, his story still moves me.
I can't imagine what it must have been like to grow up watching other children do things you couldn't do. To live with a body that made ordinary things difficult or impossible. That is so heartbreaking.

But that is also what makes Nick's life so inspiring to me. He didn't allow the reality of what he could not do to convince him that his life could not still have purpose.
I cried at the end of this video because his story is heavy, but the hope in his life is just as real.

If you're going through something that has made you wonder whether your life can still be beautiful, I hope you'll watch this one.
Your circumstances may be part of your story, but they don't have to be the end of it.
Jesus loves you. You have absolutely no idea how much. ❤️

Something can look completely finished and still not be the end of the story.
Bethany Hamilton was 13 when a shark attack took her left arm. But that wasn't where her story ended.
Sometimes we look at what we've lost and assume we've also lost our future. But your inability to see a way forward doesn't mean God has run out of ways.
If you're in a season where everything feels finished, don't give up yet. 🌱
God is still writing your story🤎

Some seasons leave you asking questions you don't even know how to put into words.
You prayed, waited, and trusted God. And somehow, you are still standing in the middle of the thing you desperately want Him to change.
Maybe it's your finances. Your career. Your relationship. Maybe it's simply the question, “God, what are You doing?”
If you've ever been there, this one is for you. 🤎

I've been thinking a lot about the goodness and mercy of God and just how much there is to be grateful for. One of the things I'm especially grateful for is finding my love for reading (non-academic books) again. I became such an avid reader from around eight years old, and somewhere along the way, that love birthed my love for writing. I used to write so many short stories, create different scenarios and little worlds in my head, and my daddy would find some of the stories quite intriguing 😄 I really loved to write. Then life got busier as I got older, there was always something else demanding my attention, and I lost that flair for reading and writing. But I've wanted that part of me back for a while now, and it feels like it's coming back. I'm reading so much again (just finished The Secret Lives of Baba Segi's Wives 😄), and I'm writing again too. I love it for me, and I intend to build on it.

I'm also learning to be more present with my life as it is right now. I still have dreams and things I'm trusting God for, but I'm becoming more conscious of not being so focused on where I'm going that I miss where I am. So I'm paying attention to what God has placed in my hands right now. I'm learning, building, reading, writing, growing, and actually enjoying this season while I'm in it.

At the same time, I'm very aware that I can do everything I'm supposed to do, but I don't have the power to take myself to the next level. I can prepare, show up, and be diligent, but God is still the One who determines what comes next. So I'm learning to trust Him harder with the future while being grateful for the present.
And truly, there is so much to thank Him for. His goodness, His mercy, the things I once prayed for that have become ordinary parts of my life, and even the things He's bringing back to life in me. I think that's where my heart is these days: trusting God "foolishly" for where I'm going, but being fully present and grateful for where I am 🤎 taken in Nigeria by @kanmaliving

The widow of Zarephath had reached what she thought was the end. She had one meal left, and as far as she could see, there was nowhere else to turn.
But God had not run out of ways to provide for her. In fact, there was provision waiting for her underneath her obedience.
Sometimes, you cannot see a way forward simply because you cannot see what God is doing yet.
Your inability to see a way out does not mean God has run out of ways.

Now and then, the hardest thing to obey is a direction that makes perfect sense to God but not to you.
How do you know when it's time to stay, and when it's time to go?

When you've tried everything you know to try and you're still staring at the same impossible situation… what then?
The woman with the issue of blood had reached that point. But then she encountered Jesus.
And sometimes, that's the reminder we need: what looks finished to us is not beyond Him.
📖 Read her story: Mark 5:25–34 | Matthew 9:20–22 | Luke 8:43–48
