“ASAKUSA CULTURE & LIGHTS 2026” will illuminate the Main Hall and Hozo-mon Gate with spectacular projection mapping inspired by the 1,400-year history and culture of Senso-ji.

For five days only, the normally closed-to-the-public Denboin Garden and Ema Hall will also open for special viewing - by day, the garden wrapped in sea of clouds together with the historical votive paintings of Ema Hall; by night, the same garden aglow with light and sea of clouds, plus an original dance performance inspired by the temple’s traditional
“Golden Dragon Dance,” part of the nighttime program Kinryu Yakai (Golden Dragon Night). One ticket covers both day and night.

Start the day in the morning by getting the perfect princess treatment at @yae_asakusa_kimono, because how else are you supposed to immerse yourself in the experience if you don’t go all-in?

The premium Kimono rental plans start from ¥7,900 with professional hairstyling for ladies included. There are many different styles, colours and most importantly, sizes of Kimono and accessories you can choose from.

This is a core memory experience so be sure to visit @yae_asakusa_kimono to kickstart your day!

@kimpakuya_uhei is a cozy shop who specializes in all things gold leaf. There, you’ll find many elements associated with good fortune, including maneki-neko and Daruma dolls.

Among them, the maneki-neko is perhaps one of the Japanese lucky symbols most commonly associated with bringing good fortune.

With one paw raised as if waving to visitors, the maneki-neko comes with different traditional interpretations depending on which paw is raised.

A common belief is that a raised right paw is associated with attracting wealth and financial good fortune, while a raised left paw is associated with welcoming customers and attracting positive relationships.

This is why maneki-neko can often be found at the entrances of shops, restaurants, and businesses throughout Japan.

Daruma is another highly recognizable Japanese symbol of good fortune.

With its round body and lack of visible arms and legs, the Daruma may look simple, but it carries the meaning of “Nanakorobi Yaoki,” or “fall seven times, stand up eight.” It represents the idea of getting back up even after facing setbacks.

In Japan, Daruma dolls are often used to express wishes and goals, such as achieving an objective, succeeding in business, passing an exam, or seeing a personal wish come true.

There is also a traditional custom of painting the eyes of a Daruma. When making a wish, one eye is painted first, and the second eye is added on by @kaotsun

#Dハロ2026 by @kaotsun

My first Dハロ！🎃

I looked through cosplay rules on their site and they said no hoop skirt obstructing the way so I didn’t bring any to prevent being denied entry lol but I saw other princesses wearing them!!! They looked sooooooo good 😩😩
So now it’s bothering me that my skirt was too flat I’m afraid I need a redo

Also didn’t touch the wig until the day itself so 😂😂 I’ve been too busy to prepare for this properly ahaha I NEED A REDO
